- mordak, on 08/06/2008, -0/+4LMAO!! I know that's an upgrade?!?!?! Sounds like a downgrade to me.
- santiago1, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4"The Linux version starts at $279; the Vista machine at $479", not counting the $699 for a Vista license...
- byrnascus, on 08/05/2008, -1/+4Yeah, this is quite a deal for the average computer user.
- TheWindBlows, on 08/05/2008, -0/+2Actually if you look at the product they have a linux version for $199 and a Vista version for $429.
My guess is they're not packaging all the advertisement crap aka the installs are clean. - jstohler, on 08/06/2008, -0/+1"I'll have a porterhouse steak and the '78 Pinot Noir."
"Very good, sir. Would you like to upgrade to tacos and a Diet Coke for an extra $200?" - karelprime, on 08/06/2008, -0/+0It's a pretty slick setup. Granted I wasn't looking for a cheap server, but it did fit the bill rather well. I've used the KPC to setup a low power server with 2TB. I'm using it to automate torrent downloads, run backups for all the computers on the LAN, function as a print server, and stream music and videos to my PS3. Like the first post says, I'll be keeping the kpc line in mind for those relatives that need mostly need to do word processing, a little photo editing, and web browsing. The only disappointment was the missing ICE Genie heatpipe/fan.
