- barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What this is really good for is incremental backups just throw an scp command into cron and youre all set
- zakainsworth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good stuff! SSH is very powerful...
- renfield33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yup... i use this with rsync to make backups... nothing new though.

Learn how to secure it... - marypoopins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice..but i dont understand a word of it ;)
- karamba_kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ssh is probably the only way you should access your computers remotely.

- Phlegyas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Probably the best explanation I've seen on this.
- raoulsland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There is no need to argue. The nature of this service is to provide freedom of choice to the reader. It's impossible that we approve all the referenced articles. That's why digging, commenting, comment rating, problem/feedback links are for.
I think OrangeTide should focus his criticism on the article or me for submitting it here and not on what other people choose to digg and read. This would be acceptable. - boazg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and so useful for tunneling with slirp...
- sekyuritei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0keys w/o passwords is a bad idea... anytime someone tries this at work, I'm always happy to PoC them, and bring it up in a meeting
- jbwillia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think this is great. I knew about it, knew it existed, and even have the O'Reilly ssh book. However, this is the first step by step tutorial (that's easy to understand) that I've found to easily explain how one would go about setting it up.
- Gringo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still haven't figured out why people with some degree of networking knowledge like to criticize the people without this knowledge. Every day there are people using computers for their first time and every day there are people going into the IT field with little or no knowledge.
Just because some news, stories, articles, techniques etc are old for some doesn't mean it isn't news worthy any more.
For those who like to criticize just remember when you were a newbie in search of these answers. - V-Spec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0done it ages ago, i generated keys a different way but i guess its good to teach newbies

Because most people online are douchebags. - kenta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is it a security risk as bernardroth says? Or is this something that shouldn't be too risk?
Thanks for comments,

http://www.MakeMeMortgageFree.com/ - OrangeTide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0This is kind of dumb. I don't know why this is here, or how people aren't already aware of this.
Why don't I just post an article about GNU screen, rsync, xdelta, xxdiff and whatever other programs I use everyday.
Next I'll write tutorials on how to use vi. but make it vim specific, of course.
I'm not sure why so many people digg these links. I'm not convinced they even read them.

What is Digg?
