Save a penguin - Unplug a Linux Server Today
jetteroheller.wordpress.com — Sun may be winning the "World's Most Flamable E-mail" with their promotion today, urging me to switch my Sun machines from Linux to Solaris. Most marketing says to not knock the competition, but even more critical is to not knock your friends.

This story is about Sun vs. Linux. Yes, we've all figured out you hate Microsoft, but do you have to spam your anti-Microsoft stuff into every unrelated story?

Sun can't exactly pretend like Linux isn't around. Potential customers probably know about Linux so Sun needs to address it. Sun need to find areas where Solaris is better than Linux so they can target a customer base. I can't say I'm convinced by their argument and thus I shall be staying with Linux. - reallyoldwoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think that key on this is recognizing who the public are for the ad that you're running. Some Linux sysadmins might get an ad like that, and immediately find a way to DDOS Sun's mail servers (i.e. object to the message), others might not care. I think it's just key to know before you go and Survey.
