- Spr0k3t, on 10/10/2007, -0/+61I would like to take this time to say congratulations to Darl McBride and his efforts to drive the company into oblivion. Keep up the good work. Now, can we make him accountable for the efforts of devaluing Linux?
- sdaf, on 10/10/2007, -4/+50Mess with the penguin, die like the rest!
- tdgx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39mv SCO /dev/null
- indyGuy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29For those of us who have never heard of SCO Group, the company has claimed that elements of Linux infringes on the company's copyright.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCO_Group#SCO-Linux_l ... - Philluminati, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25I hope Daryl McBride knows how much we loathe him as well as how completely and utterly wrong he has been through out this entire case. I can't believe they even tried to sue us with such a lack of information. We "must" have? pffff. Oh yeah I remember now, it's because Microsoft and SUN paid them to do it. That company was an expendable ***** squeezed out by Microsoft and Sun, but don't worry, Novell flushed your ass.
lol - badrox, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21"nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah...hey hey...good bye"
- Phocion55, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22Do your parents know that you're using their computer?
- jeremy1967, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Sell, Mortimer! Sell!
- korashime2001, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Die SCO Die!
- atomicwedgie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Let's hope this loser taught others that the "We suck at managing so let's sue someone" business model is no longer an option.
- TheZorch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Yes, even an idiot knew that SCO was being used to fight a Proxy War against Linux providers and IBM. Microsoft knew they had no case against IBM or the developers of the various Linux distributions, so they convinced another company to take them to court for them under the guise of copyright infringement of Unix code they didn't even own in the first place. So, you Diggers who dig people down as Linux Zealots, before you hit that Thumbs Down button just remember how one of the largest software companies in the world destroyed a another company in a vain attempt to get rid of Linux. They were willing to go that far to stifle a competitor rather than try to improve their products to make them more attractive to consumers like every other company does.
- superpixel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Way to go Darl! In the Star Wars universe you're about as malevolent as the little robot that scurries along the floors of the death star. Bleep bleep, duhhh!
- init100, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10"I hope Daryl McBride knows how much we loathe him as well as how completely and utterly wrong he has been through out this entire case."
He sure knows, but he also won't care. He made loads of money on it, and that's all he cares about. - plizard, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12buy buy buy!!!
- Kugo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10I think you're missing several points.
1. SCO wasn't salvageable anyway. That's why Bill Gates got involved. You don't seriously think he thought up that stupid scheme on his own, do you?
2. Darl did EXACTLY what he was told - by Gates. He wasn't supposed to win - nobody can win something like this - he was only supposed to thwart open source and piss people off.
3. Considering all that you should be careful offering Darl congratulations. He accomplished what Gates wanted - in Gates' eyes he was a success.
Amazing how naive some people are. - crapuccino, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9It's old news, but I can't resist bashing SCOX. Dugg.
- omababy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9please stick your head back in the sand, its embarrassing.
- inajeep, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9queue laughter track.
- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I think the Judge gave a pretty good raspberry in type :
"For the reasons stated above, the court concludes that Novell is the owner of the UNIX and UnixWare copyrights. Therefore, SCO's First Claim for Relief for slander of title and Third Claim for Relief for specific performance are dismissed,.............." - m3t00, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Love the Darl bashing comments on his blaming Linux for SCOX's Chapter 11

- justiceforsome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is obviously another innovation by Microsoft. Usually they steal from upstarts and kill them by bundling the stolen technology into windows, but in this case they killed an established company (sco) by convincing them to attack an even bigger established company (IBM). WOW

- donte, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yeah, take the certificates and make a wallpaper for your office (with a Linux computer in it presumably)... probably cheaper than actual wallpaper by now.
- swrlyhrly, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Thanks, we dont all keep up with every last *nix detail.
- locnguyen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's events like this that remind me there's till some good in the world. They'll appeal and only delay their fate.
- Phocion55, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Awesome comment. Dugg x 10.

- mheath, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4All the competent people at SCO have already left.
- tonicboy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
- Tobark, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Its a shame that a lot of hard working people will lose their jobs due to management's incompetence. I hope the best for them and hope the idiots who drove this company into the belly of the penguin get consumed by digestive juices.
- GMorgan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Can't see the point. They're already dead, it'll just cost them more money.
- psyjoniz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3damn. been watching this from the very beginning. its about ***** time. strange that my introduction into the *x world was sco.
- lastdeadmouse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yes.
- picsectionpleez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2***** SCO!
- Jowsley, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3So long, bitches
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2They're still claiming they own Linux and are trying to sell their ScoSource *****.

Are they overtly breaking the law? - suprxtragrav, on 12/09/2008, -0/+2so like... SCO is the jack thompson/Rambus of the unix world right?
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Damn, somebody should sue them...
- ichthus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Google "Chris Sontag" he's the one that orchestrated most of the anti-Linux PR.
- Kugo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3This is the most intelligent comment in this thread I have seen so far. Thank you for that break from the monotony of these lusers.
- blueZhift, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2it really makes one wonder if they would have survived if they had minded their own business and made it profitable rather than suing over linux.
- jellomizer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2For some people if you are stuck in a lie your only option is to stick with the same lie in hoping that someone will believe you.
- nullcodes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Will investors sue the ***** out of Darl McBride? Also, does anyone know if he can be charged with negligence or stupidity or something for claiming SCO owned some ***** it didn't and letting his stock drop?
- plurk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Actually Sun paid them to ensure just in case SCO was right, they'd be covered. Sun's entire software division is now open source, so I doubt they were part of an "evil" conspiracy to take out Linux. As for Microsoft, as much as I'm inclined to think the worst of them, I think the old adage "The enemy of my enemy is my friend ... " at least temporarily holds true in this case. I highly doubt Microsoft came up with the whole SCO debacle, but it didn't stop them from helping inject cash into SCO to help them fight.
- ratsg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wrong. Sun paid money to open source Solaris. Their timing could have been better, but now that is additional monies that SCO owes to Novell. Don't drag Sun down with SCO & m$.
- bbene, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Indeed.
