- smotpoker, on 04/20/2008, -1/+15Hook the poor guy up!! Without RMS FOSS would very likely be AT LEAST 1-2 decades behind it's current level of advancement. Hell, there's a pretty good chance MS and other OS developers would be a good bit behind too since Linux is a substantial influence and motivator to all of them and would not have been without GNU.
- Philluminati, on 04/21/2008, -0/+12I'm sure a women his age will be past having more children.
- Aeuta, on 04/21/2008, -0/+12Oh and xkcd BETTER do a comic on this...even I got ideas.

- sirhomer, on 04/21/2008, -0/+8This advertisement has been around for awhile.
- Philluminati, on 04/21/2008, -1/+8I can't help think your taking the piss out of him under the ruse of trying to help which is a shame because he really is a nice guy who deserves happiness.
- Kisama, on 04/21/2008, -0/+7He should make sure she's been debugged first.
- BigManOnCampus, on 04/21/2008, -2/+8Will he let the community work on his wife with him?
//poor taste? - tnoy, on 04/21/2008, -0/+5He'd have an easier time if he shaved and got a haircut. Most women dont go for a guy who looks homeless.
- nblsavage, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4I've got a girl who will go out with him - but not until GNU/Hurd is finished.
- prototypeangel, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4Hurry people! rms needs a mrs.
- SmackMyMac, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4He's got to ROOT her out! Make sure he's not MEAN to her. And not be such a damn SQUARE...
/end RMS joke - Allymarie, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4I'd date him but Im the same age as his child and that might be awkward.
- weizbox, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3Since at least May '07 is looks like:
personal.html 18-May-2007 23:48 - weizbox, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3It's been on there since January :P
http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/bos/533096562 ... - deadowl, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3Problem: The only way to really like RMS on a personal level is to have such a high amount of respect for the work he has done and continues to do. He is just really excessively controlling face to face. Of course, that's from my own standpoint. I can't honestly say how he'd do with a woman, but the outlook from what I've seen of him is that it's not so good, no matter how much he deserves it. Maybe it would even tame him a little bit, which would be really good for him.
- ZaNkY, on 04/21/2008, -0/+3Not to start a fire per se, but has anyone listened to OpenBSD's latest song?
http://www.openbsd.com/lyrics.html#43 - lazybat, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2dugg! anything to help the Free Software Movement..
- HarryBauzonia, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2He should shave that scraggly beard if he wants a woman. The man looks like a dirty Sasquatch.
He needs to ride a bike and get outdoors a bit too. The only kind of woman who would go for that look is one who also looks like that.
....unless he's loaded, then all bets are off.
http://linux.ues.edu.sv/servidor/maracosas/bruno2d ... - presidentjapan, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2Yeah, I feel bad for all those women looking for 50+ year old fathers.
/sarcasm - zerodaysoon, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2i dont think it said his looking for a wife, the ad said he is looking for a companion, but i guess you can make that assumption
btw...good luck Richard!!!!! i hope the rest of us geeks can follow suit and ask girls out... - sega01, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2For anyone here who has an account on Slashdot and wants to see it make the front page: http://slashdot.org/firehose.pl?op=view&id=633782
- qeek, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2With these requirements, I'm afraid he's going to die in loneliness.
- deadowl, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2He really needs one before he's forever bitter about the Free Software namesake being replaced by the Open Source name, and the GNU namesake being replaced by the Linux name, and people asking him OT questions.
- BrainInAJar, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2not looking like a hobo & being a total self-righteous pedant?
- lcollado, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1Cannot be RMS's message, there is no mention that she must know how to use emacs, you had me fooled there for a moment but a requirement is a requirement.
- Azimuth1, on 04/21/2008, -1/+1Problem is, pretty much no woman knows or cares about any of that.
- dlm85, on 04/21/2008, -2/+1I have forwarded his personal ad to my sister-in-law. She is getting desperate so it might work out. I hope so, I am getting tired of taking her to the adult bookstore every weekend to by new toys and movies. She keeps breaking her toys so might suggest a jackhammer.
- OgniAsuob, on 04/21/2008, -3/+2Who are these people??
- trogdoor, on 04/20/2008, -8/+6With his views on children that may be somewhat of a problem.
- Aeuta, on 04/21/2008, -5/+2lol
- ArthurSucks, on 04/21/2008, -6/+3I LOL'd
