- haooken, on 10/23/2007, -4/+97Your OS sticker now costs more than your OS. Nice ;)
- sdubois92, on 10/10/2007, -1/+66I want one that says "Powered By Electricity"
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+60I want one. Just one.
- BLyn, on 10/10/2007, -6/+24Well... if you only want 4.
http://system76.com/article_info.php?articles_id=9 - ha1f, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Why can't there be general quality "Powered by Linux" stickers or "Powered by BSD" stickers?
I bet Dell bought most of these stickers anyway... - thcobbs, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19Screw case stickers... I'm gonna give them to my wife for pasties!
(will that make me too much of a geek?) - m3mn0n, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Can you say expensive? Man.
Plus, what I really want is a "ubuntu button" sticker to replace the Windows button. Yeah, it won't do anything, but someone should really make it do something. And when that happens, I'll be ready with my sticker. haha - Vorian, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13you're not very good at maths are you :)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14Same here. I'm sure I could buy 100 of them and find maybe a few people who'd want ONE.
- ianmcorvidae, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Just a note to anyone reading this - these are NOT the same ones being put out by System76 - these are brushed aluminum badges that should last longer, and more importantly, look cooler. Also, the prices are all in cents per badge - at the moment, there are almost 10000 ordered, so the cost per badge is $0.44 - and with about 2000 more, it'll be almost half that at 24 cents per badge. This *is* a batch order - those prices apply for the sum total of all the orders, and that number is already almost 8000.
- leftyfb, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Those aren't the same thing. These are based off of that design (with their permission) but are made out of aluminum. Just like the "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP" case badges, only better ;)
- naevity, on 10/10/2007, -8/+17They look pretty cool.
- Kelgann, on 10/10/2007, -7/+16Left one is better.
- pepsiguy94, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8We maybe nerds, geeks and socially inept, but because we have access to the internet and the number one resouce of the internet (porn) we know what pasties are. We just don't believe you have a wife.
- EclipseAgent, on 10/10/2007, -7/+15Who the hell gives a ***** what OS your computer is powered by? Most linux users change to try others too right?
- Langford, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I wonder if it would be worth it to buy a bunch of them, and then sell them one by one on ebay for around $2 each.
- Palintheus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Most of them have been the System76 stickers these are better quality.
- jsd8cc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Can you bundle mine away from dryanal's? I prefer mine unsodomized.
- Langford, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7First you will have to figure out how to install Ubuntu on her. Does she meet the minimum recommended system requirements?
- 9a3eedi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I prefer a "powered with Linux" one. But what I want to see is these badges coming with the ubuntu discs that you can order for free on ubuntu's website. That would be sweeeet. The ubuntu disc your order usually come with worthless white ubuntu stickers that I simply give to my little sister. I want those dammit :/
- ravi7791, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Why is it so much like the Windows stickers? Isn't Linux about getting away from Windows? Why not have something that's atleast a bit different?
For example: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1046/1106512379_1a0bb86a5a_o.png - weizbox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6so.... who gets the money that they are making on these? Is it used for something that will in turn help the community.. or just to help someone get a new vid card? ;)
- leftyfb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7These aren't the same thing as has been posted before. These are higher quality aluminum case badges. Like the ones you get for your "other" OS.
- rkdotan, on 06/06/2008, -6/+12+5 ghz when applied
- jackspack, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8yes, spending an extra $1500 on a computer because it "looks better" certainly speaks status enough without a sticker.
Too bad you can;t customize hardware in a Crapintosh. - Stemp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yes you're right, there is surprisingly very few stories about Paris Hilton in the Linux/Unix Section.
- Sparkster185, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yeah, that whole $0.24 is really going to break the bank.
- leftyfb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6We are WAY passed the 100 mark. We are currently shooting for ordering a batch of 10,000+ which makes the price $.24 for everyone. Currently we are at the 2500+ mark in which the price is $.44 per badge.
- sacherjj, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Because if people walk into your office and see that, they might ask "What is Ubuntu?" Now you can explain to them what it is a why you use it. The more people that adopt it, the more pressure on hardware vendors to support it with drivers and the better off uses of Linux will be.
- arjie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5When people ask me, I first say, "Linux". Then if they're interested I'll tell them which distribution. That way people get a good impression about 'Linux' rather than about some specific distribution.
Sure, it's not entirely true, but if they're interested I do tell them the truth, see. - sacherjj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5That is all you can come up with? Nothing about the finger command. Messing with fstab to mount. Fsck. Nothing? Wow.
- 5thfreedom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If you want to get technical, it should say "Powered by Enermax/Thermaltake/Antec/Coolermaster/etc" because Linux is just a Kernel and Ubuntu is just an operating system, neither of which actually power a computer.
- Elranzer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5What is this human emotion "wuv" you speak of?
- chris9902, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5"Powered By Wuv"
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6$4.72 each for 100 :/
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+11Either you have an elite case mod, or you lack the wit required for clever insults.
- Sparkster185, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Trolling with one comment wasn't enough for you, eh?
- sacherjj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4$(Insert random unix command to sexual innuendo joke here.)
- kiensoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I think they should have made it different than the "Designed for Windows XP" I mean, it is the same round square with the division line. It looks like they just removed the Windows logo and put the Ubuntu one in there. Well that's my opinion, I would have designed something different.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5She must have amazingly small nipples :p
- daftman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Nah, that should be stucked on your forehead.
- sacherjj, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5You see that they are pooling for an order of 10000, right. This means that even if you order 100 as part of the 10000 order, you get your 100 at $0.24. Is this really that hard to comprehend?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This is copied and pasted from the site. You can buy just one if you want to.
- ha1f, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Linux isn't about getting away from anything.
- sacherjj, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Good for you. I have two mini-towers that are prominently visible in the office. This sticker would work well for me. I've run Suse, Slackware, RedHat, Ubuntu, Xubuntu, DSL, Puppy, and too many other Linux distributions to remember. I don't give a crap about which type you run. I know many distributions are getting their panties in a bunch about Ubuntu getting all the press. That is because Ubuntu is getting the most NEW users to Linux. I'm all for supporting that. If that means a sticker, then fine.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Heck even if they use the money to get a new video card, mad props for thinking up the idea.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Obvious you care enough to post a useless comment.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Awwww are you going to cry?
- DteK, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Perfectly solid!!! Bwahahaha....You my friend have obviously
not been using Windoze long enough! - ilovenicotine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3eBay
