Over 30s VAX, Linux breeds Boeing's new jets

linuxworld.com.au — Hawker de Havilland, the local arm of aircraft engineering giant Boeing, will retire its 30-year-old VAX system in favour of its new Linux-based environment in the manufacture of parts for the company's next-generation 787 jets.

  • joelito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh I wonder what they'll be using in 30 years when the old (by then) Linux system will need an upgrade... Hopefully Linux or a fork of Linux. But; who knows?
