- linuts, on 10/12/2007, -2/+144Is there anything that perl can't do?
This script + cron = early death by heart attack - diggapleaze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+131how cool would it be to make this a mythtv plugin?
- beager, on 10/12/2007, -3/+90pizza_party, much like Domino's Pizza itself, is not compatible with yum
(i crack me up!) - wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -10/+91One word:
Wii
How cool would it be to have a nice flash interface to order a pizza and select toppings with your wiimote? For example, you could drag the crust for the pizza size. Hop to it, code ninjas. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+50What the hell am I looking at?
- jon314, on 10/12/2007, -4/+49Yeah I know, good thing it was on Digg or I never would have seen it! =)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42I don't use linux but that's actually extremely awesome.
- slapded, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37i use this command for finding hot chicks at my party
grep -i hotchicks * - semiotix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33I think I screwed it up. I followed the directions but then I got a call from Dominos saying I'd ordered -65535 pizzas, and that if I didn't deliver them in half an hour I'd have to do it for free.
- nighthwk1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Not necessarily. In the video, they were running Windows (with Cygwin).
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30Go to hell.
- dreamlayers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26Note that there is a security issue:

The script doesn't use SSL (your Domino's password can be sniffed) and it places your base64 encoded password on the command line (it can be read by other logged in users on the same machine via ps and other methods). There's also some interesting commentary on that page:
I believe it may now be in use internally at a large number of corporate organizations (primarily by hard-core coder types who are too focused on the task at hand to get up and go out to get a pizza -- or even to lift up the phone to order one), and installations can also be found on the public Internet. - strabes, on 10/12/2007, -7/+30You don't have to pay $2000 for a Mac in order for a computer to be useful.
- aplardi, on 10/12/2007, -30/+53Anyone else think it would be easier to... call... fax.... go to the website... or hey write a letter and train a bird to carry it to the owner?
- ajcates, on 01/20/2009, -1/+23any thing that plugs into a tv and a internet connection(or phone) should be able to order pizza or any other take food, i am surprised this idea hasn't been in place for a while.
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22After EQ's /pizza command, nothing pizza-delivery related will ever surprise me again.
- akifbayram, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Has anybody, besides Micheal Freeman and his buddy, tried this?
- jcostom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18@kalleanka
Download the script & read the man page. It's all covered in there. You create a personal config file that contains your username, password, default toppings, etc. - kosai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Too bad it seems to order from Domino's.
- rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19Imagine a beowulf cluster ordering pizza.
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16You don't have to pay $2000 for a Mac, peroid. But thanks the "green-screen" linux guys you can now order pizza from your Mac however much you paid for it, or from your DIY linux box that cost $100. One day pizza from the command line will unite everyone, regardless of what operating systems they use!
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16From the README: "if you don't know how to install Perl modules, you're clearly not hard enough to be ordering pizza at the command line."
aplardi: If this is too hard then this script is not for you. Sadly, it's not for me either since dominoes doesn't do online orders in Canada. One day I will order pizza from the command line. - yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15so at your desk you dont have a phone?
- wush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12So do connoisseurs of pizza wear Firefly shirts and eat over their keyboard?
- TheRealPod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12This would be the best way in the world to have usernames & passwords sent to the programmer. Free pizza for life!
- DrStephanHeimer, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17@HisEliteness
Yet another useless comment from the Blue Screen (of Death) windows crowd. - Grimboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Uh, yeah. Of course pizzas will blend, you fool.
- LavaHot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12@wingnut21
IGN already came up with the idea for a Wii pizza ordering channel. - damentz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Yes.
- steven401, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Video of it in action:
http://xenia.media.mit.edu/~peretti/cory_arcangel_pizza_party/pizza_party.mpg - ElbridgeGerry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It works! I just got my pizza. (Be sure to read the documentation and set up your username/password file)
- mooninite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Unfortunately the two Dominos near me don't accept online orders.
I wish I could use this. :( - geekee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10A QT GUI would be a nice addition.
- fugazi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Ya I know. It would be so much easier then trying to make them understand you want a plain pizza.
- stuartbryant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Do I sense a Pizza Party + WoW add-on being coded at the moment?
- molecool, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"Anyone else think it would be easier to... call... fax.... go to the website... or hey write a letter and train a bird to carry it to the owner?"
Uuuuuhhhmmm - NO??!!! I mean it takes you AT LEAST 60 seconds to call and talk to some guy (here in California probably speaks little/broken English) or to go to a website, get to the order page and finalize your order. I can do this on the commandline in less than 10 secs. Hey, it can be 1 second if you set up a bash script with your favorite pizza selections :-) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You could combine it with espeak and Voip to have it ring up your local pizza place and place an order, if they don't support online orders
- thewhitefedora, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Open the program in a text editor and change these values to the appropriate urls:
use constant FRONT_PAGE_URL => 'http://www.dominos.quikorder.com/scripts/mgwms32.dll?MGWLPN=MWEBLINK&wlapp=QUIKORDER&guid=';
use constant LOGIN_URL => 'http://www.dominos.quikorder.com/scripts/mgwms32.dll';
use constant ORDER_URL => 'http://www.dominos.quikorder.com/scripts/mgwms32.dll';
use constant CHECKOUT_URL => 'http://www.dominos.quikorder.com/scripts/mgwms32.dll'; - realwx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7No Domino's around here... I'm hoping they make one for Papa Johns or Pizza Hut.
- DrGamez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I would just use their online gui. I can specify something a bit more specific and get it just as quick.
- WhiteSox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"For instance, a web-based frontend."
.... like the website itself? - akira117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Anyone know what he was using on windows to get a unix command line?
I think it's Cygwin, not 100% sure though. - rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16Dominoes pizza != Pizza
Pizza Hut pizza != Pizza
Papa Johns pizza ~= Pizza
Local Pizzeria pizza == Pizza - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You won't say that when these nerds are your boss.
- shinda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4To bad dominoes canada doesnt support online ordering.
- victorc26, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9I know it sounds useless at first, but this is actually pretty cool.
You're just sitting at your desk working, or surfing the net, and you suddenly have the hankering for a pizza. Just open up terminal and command line your way into a pizza order with no fuss. - DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Either would allow for individuals other than the owner of the Dominos Pizza account to order arbitrary pizzas (with random toppings even) via the Dominos QuikOrder web server and have them delivered -- resulting in chaos, anarchy and confusion."
– http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2004/May/0347.html
Normally I'd have a witty comment after a quote like that but in this case I think its best that the quote speaks for itself. - AceTracer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6*evokes scene from a certain classic 80s movie*
NEEEEERRRDDDSSSS!!!! - zlintux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's a virtual terminal program -- he was connected to a *nix box remotely.
- rustyryan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4cool.. but can it beat the emergency pizza button at MIT?
http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2005/only-at-mit-0914.html
What if it's such a dire emergency that you don't even have time to get to a console? -
