- dukeinlondon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't compare with the rest of the distros but definitely Yast is a turn off. Even in 10 when it worked reasonably well, it was difficult to work out what it was doing and could have strange behaviours.
Smart package manager has been the saviour of my opensuse 10.1 install. Without it, I'd be running Kubuntu now. It's not a killer app but at least, it has a more logical workflow and various advantages, like parallel loading of packages on large upgrades. And it's reliable in its performance. - KevinWPeters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I guess I'm one of the YaST fanboys, because I see it as a very essential part of my system. I have really been upset over the problems it has had in this release and hope Novell is working to keep this type of thing from happening again. YaST is the one thing that sets SUSE apart from all the other distros, IMHO.
