- Eruaran, on 11/14/2008, -0/+0This is another illustration of how GNU/Linux levels the playing field and causes Microsoft's own dirty game to backfire on them. You can't compete with Free. Competing with Free Software means Microsoft's cocaine like profits dwindle. Even if they can rape the market and get their crappy OS installed on 90% of systems in markets where they are forced to compete with Free, it comes at an enormous cost because they simply cant charge what they used to, and in come cases there have been reports that Microsoft is giving Windows away to stop the growth of Free Software. This gives Microsoft short term market gain but no profit; It is simply not sustainable.
I've said it for years, when you hear reports of Microsoft giving Windows away for free, the game is up. It has already gone further than that. The rest is just a matter of time. - Vadi0, on 11/12/2008, -1/+1Uh. What position does he have, and how does he know that his 'facts' are really facts?
