- ojk007, on 12/04/2007, -1/+43Trust something like linux to bring out the best in people!
- Ub3rg33k, on 12/04/2007, -1/+42Does that mean we'll get a Starcraft port to Linux soon?
- bightchee, on 12/04/2007, -0/+26Quick! Get Israel and Lebanon a Linux distro CD! Or a Wii at the very least!
- f4nt0m4s, on 12/04/2007, -5/+28they've been so ronery without rinux

- hplasm, on 12/04/2007, -0/+17Now it runs linux. Where's the problem? ;)
- slashbot, on 12/04/2007, -2/+18I keep reading that as "haha linux"
- canthraxp, on 12/04/2007, -0/+14A country that got split during the cold war is now joining for linux development. That's not something you read everyday, do you?
- mikusjay, on 12/04/2007, -8/+21See what happens you develop open source software... COMMUNISM! Dun dun dun..
- Asianwaste, on 12/04/2007, -0/+13English is my 2nd language. Your improper use of commas makes me smarter than you. GTFO my internet until you learn 2nd grade punctuation.
- crossmr, on 12/04/2007, -1/+14This is surprising given how children are born using an activeX control in S. Korea..
- colincornaby, on 12/04/2007, -2/+14I'm not sure I understand. North Korea literally has one computer. I'm not joking either. They literally have like one computer.
- cranium, on 12/04/2007, -0/+9In Japanese it means "nose".
- thomashauk, on 12/04/2007, -1/+9Except South Korea is capitalist...
- Nougat, on 12/04/2007, -1/+9Welcome to the internet. Please step to the end of the line; there are a whole lot of douchebags in front of you.
- fayeumi, on 12/04/2007, -3/+11Word 2007: $499.95 USD
OpenOffice: $0 USD
Bypassing ridiculously overpriced software with OpenSource: Priceless - liquidpele, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6Ha! All three are big into internet hacking.
They'll each have to look over each other's code line by line to make sure there aren't any backdoors... - antdude, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6MS would declare war.
- init100, on 12/04/2007, -1/+7I'd rather expect the US troops to be sent in to ensure that the Koreans only run Microsoft software.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -2/+8Wait wait wait..... They got computers in North Korea? They freaking executed a man for possessing an ISD phone without authorization.
- Nougat, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5gumpreza, that's not how it works.
- falafelkiosken, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5At least they've got an "own" internet, Kim Jong Il is an "expert on internets" and he knows the real thing is dangerous to the people
- UnknownVariable, on 12/04/2007, -3/+8For somebody who plans on having a future longterm career in South Korea in the IT field, I find this to be welcoming news. :)
- Asianwaste, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4also flower
- 4321234, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4Easier to get rid of than the CIA keylogger that comes with with Microsoft's Korean laguage package.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -1/+5fyi, hana means "1"
- curiousgrge, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3Microsoft PR: Linux associated with terrorists.
- themanmachine, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3Great, now get U.S. troops out of there and Korea will be reunified.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3Does run under WINE quite well. Would be cool to see a StarCraft 2 native version through.
One of those completely useless online partitions here: http://digg.com/pc_games/Help_get_native_Linux_sup ...
There was also that guy trying to remake the engine in Mono, but I can't see anything about it on the site so I guess he got lawyered. When will people learn to use a distributed anonymous way of coding legally precarious projects. Need a modified version of Freenet to submit patches and hosting with bit torrent. - revyn, on 12/04/2007, -1/+4I use and like linux, too. But please, stop being retarded. kthxbai.
- eean, on 12/04/2007, -1/+4They already have:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asianux
Which is a joint S. Korean, Chinese and Japanese initiative. - Megatog615, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Or:
$ echo peace &> /dev/world - griszi, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2theres probably a better one out there.. but to get it started
griszi@linux$ ls world | grep peace - surfing, on 12/05/2007, -0/+2I heard Cuba, Mexico and Spain are working on their own version of Linux too called Unonix
- ShrimpCrackers, on 12/05/2007, -0/+2Hopefully no one is digging BassMastr down for his statement about joint works, because there have been economic trials, industrial parks, and so forth even though both are technically still at war.
- Farticus, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2I'll believe it when I start seeing a lot of Korean and Chinese names listed as major contributors to substantial FOSS projects, until then they are just USERS and given the product is free that amounts to very little impact on the future of Linux. Unlike commercial products, where the size the user base equals profits, FOSS is driven by the number of people prepared to actually get involved in developing it.
Nations with a large Linux user base and a small developer community are, parasites. In the case of the third world this is forgivable in the short term as it should help them to accelerate the pace of their development, but there comes a time when they need to stand on their own and contribute back to the FOSS community.
You know who you are! - Schneckehaus, on 12/04/2007, -1/+3In Korea, Starcraft is the most popular game, so if Blizzard wants to keep selling starcraft, they're gonna have to port it. (actually Vivendi, which owns Blizzard, which is now merged with Activision to form a new company called Vivendi Activision, and yes, it is an American company)
- BoneheadFarker, on 12/04/2007, -2/+4Just so you know...I buried that for spamming...

- leerayIG88, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Linux is the holy grail for peace.
- BigGourgues, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1Just think of how many American Computer freeks fight over their different Linux softwares. Mines better,...Mines better.... no mine's better. Good luck to the Koreans. This looks like the start of a very beautiful relationship.
- izlander, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1Incorrect. (Team America Referrence-Kim Jong Il)
- izlander, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1That's because your an idiot
- ShrimpCrackers, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1I'm a FreeBSD fan myself but he's right, linux has a very poor penetration in SK, most of the servers run windows. Even Ragnarok and all the Korean mmorpgs run windows.
- BassMastr, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1You have a lot to learn about north and south korea if you think I'm wrong... did you bother to google them?
