- dukeeeey, on 03/09/2008, -0/+4download nero lite
it comes with the bit you actually want, ie the burning software - TeacherOfHeroes, on 03/09/2008, -0/+3From the looks of it, they've also stuck to a fairly standard UI, rather than the silly "SmartStart" stuff with the custom UI that they've created for the windows version. That always seemed unnecessary to me.
I don't know why some software makers value "making it pop" over providing users (especially novice users) with visual and interactive consistency. For people who aren't that familiar with computers, consistency is far more important. - TeacherOfHeroes, on 03/09/2008, -0/+2You can find some screenshots (the article seems to have none) on nero's site: http://www.nero.com/enu/linux3.html
I see they've kept all the windows-style icons, rather than using the GTK's icon theme settings, or even something fairly standard like Tango. - carpespasm, on 03/09/2008, -0/+2For long term archive burning to bluray would be nice, but I don't see why you wouldn't otherwise use a usb hard drive. I haven't needed to burn a dvd but once in a blue moon. Still, kinda need to have the added compatibility.
- kingofpenguins, on 03/09/2008, -0/+1Well, I don't need Blu-ray burning (and don't even have a Blu-ray writer, let alone a reader). Sorry, I'll keep my $25 and just use K3B.
