Motorola ships a U.S. Linux mobile phone

linuxdevices.com — Motorola last month finally shipped its first Linux-based mobile phone "bound for North America." The quad-band GSM/GPRS TRAZR2 V8 features a Windows Media Player 11 codec, a USB 2.0 port supporting 480Mbps file transfers, a "music touchscreen" on its external display, and up to 2GB internal storage.
