- baalzebub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lol, yeah, i have to agree the IceWeasel thing is lame, hopefully some distros will leave Firefox intact and other software left intact the way the author intended it to be...
if it was not for Pat V's work building Slackware i would abandon Linux for a MacBook for desktop/workstation stuff and, FreeBSD for a server platform...
__ Slackware = Simple, Elegant, Pure GNU/Linux that is un-fooled around with :) - freezombie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only reason to fork is that they cannot use the name without proprietary graphics. So they need a new name ;-)
I must say that "GNUzilla" sounds extremely cool, but the name "IceWeasel", which said project spat out, needs a bit of getting used to. Another alliteration would have been cool - like WebWolf - btipling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Article critiqued:

End of article: "Having a completely Free browser that is just as functional as Firefox in a distro that aims to be as Free as possible is only a good thing, no matter how you slice it…"
Yes it is. But renaming FF IceWeasel is so silly .....is there anyone who doesn't just sigh and roll their eyes and hope the Deb devs get a clue???? IceWeasel..... - subgeniusd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 WebWolf=That's more like it!! I was thinking DebBrowser but that is lame compared to WebWolf. I can see this thread veering off into a lot of interesting ideas.
WebHound. No. NetSniffer. No. WebWolf is cool.
