- positron, on 01/18/2008, -0/+9Press release from the Department of Redundancy Department.
- lovekudu, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10schestowitz is a tool, but that doesn't man you need to Digg down everything he says. His comment was on-topic and contributed something.
- aussieNickuss, on 01/18/2008, -1/+8"Miro's support of BitTorrent has always set itself apart from other media players with it's BitTorrent support"
Who wrote this article? - schestowitz, on 01/18/2008, -11/+17Quite the Swiss army knife. The 'Firefox of media', also funded by Mozilla by the way (they received a reward months ago). http://www.getmiro.com/blog/2008/01/announcing-mir ...
- asdfuiop, on 01/18/2008, -0/+6This guy has been spamming the same exact post all over the place... please report him as offensive
Real cool and innovative username by the way... dbag - lovekudu, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5I agree, Democracy was lame then. Slow and unstable.
Miro, OTOH ***** rocks. I use it more than firefox. - lovekudu, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5Remember kids, if you're running Miro on Ubuntu you'll need the 'ubuntu-restricted-extras' package to enjoy most videos.
- Subassy, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5I don't know if this is common knowledge but you can go to tvrss.net and get the feed of your favorite show(s) which will download auto-magically. Then you can server those shows out to your 360 or other device with TVersity. That's what I'm doing anyway. Miro also downloads Digg Nation and Totally Rad Show for me (along with some other video podcasts) which I can then easily watch on a TV.
- KidDeath, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6this update came out monday or even last week
- sloppychris, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3But 1.1 seems fine! Nice work.
- SteveIsTheDude, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3I hear there going to make a Fight Club musical, but, they can't promote it.... Because the first rule of Fight Club musical, is you don't talk about Fight Club musical. But, seriously, Trent Reznor is going to do the music.
- myFriendDerrik, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Miro rocks.
- flatfish, on 01/21/2008, -0/+2Dugg because your statement is correct.
- MeneerR, on 01/19/2008, -0/+2Don't forget xine-extra-codecs
- tshawkins, on 01/18/2008, -1/+3Hmmmm , im not sure why since Miro is written in Python
- shaggypaul, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2You don't need TVersity anymore since the 360 now supports Xvid. You can you WMP or the Zune software to stream it to your Xbox native.
- theonewho, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I know this story it old now (especially by digg standards) but what the heck, it may be useful still. If Miro won't start for you it might be because of the Java plugin version (I think) 1.6. At least that worked for me. Annoying for sure, but I don't really use java for anything anyway and I use Miro all the time.
- sloppychris, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2I've had Java6 compatibility issues with Miro in Gutsy.

- MeneerR, on 01/19/2008, -1/+2Its gentoo: you are supposed to be able to these things yourself.
If you need somebody to hold your hand. Use another distro. - KevinJim, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2If Miro let me download stuff from veoh without the ***** VeohTV that veoh itself, force you to download if you wanna see something that last more than 30min ( maybe less ) then I will be happy to try it ( yet again... ).
- MeneerR, on 01/19/2008, -0/+1Miro uses gecko render-engine. On most distro's this is just one specific installation, which also contains a java plugin.
I actually love Miro, but i would really like it if they drop XUL and GECKO in favor of Clutter Tookit.. and WebKit. Then it will run fast. (http://clutter-project.org/) - blinki, on 01/18/2008, -3/+2is there a gentoo ebuild yet? or is it "COMING SOON" still
- elmargol, on 01/18/2008, -5/+4Great work!
- Deveak, on 01/18/2008, -2/+1I cant get it to work, keeps saying something about an NIS error or something and that its corrupted, the software sounds nice, but if it doesn't work whats the point?
- schestowitz, on 01/21/2008, -5/+1There are at least 4 people who patrol Digg to mod down all my comments systematically and spread libel. I live with it.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -6/+1Downloaded Miro and it doesn't even start.
Yes, my PC meets the minimum requirements.
Console.log has the line "The exception handler _CallMethodException_ failed!" and some Python errors. - ha1f, on 01/18/2008, -11/+5Why is this in Linux/UNIX when it's cross platform? Shouldn't this be in software? Buried for lies.
- doublsh0t, on 01/18/2008, -10/+3This is just the Democracy program repackaged under a new name. It was lame then, it's still pretty lame now. Who wants a program that's like, centered around nothing but watching videos? I need something more multi-functional/featured than that.
- opethlike, on 01/18/2008, -12/+5HOLY SPAM! At least try to mask it guys.
