- Sairgem, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21That's sudo apt-get install cake. Get it right.
- Amablue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Aw screw it, just use Synaptic.
- stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Or, if it floats your boat,
sudo aptitude install cake - corevette, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17for those people who don't know who he is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Shuttleworth - schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Another affiliation for his list. Let's just hope it doesn't distract him too much. The Linux Foundation is funded by industry and works for industry (Intel, IBM, Red Hat..). Perhaps Ubuntu can reach out for businesses, rather than just conquer the home of users, sometimes taking over a second partition. With some recent events in the headlines, it's clear that Ubuntu is as business ready as RHEL, Mandriva, and SUSE.
- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Come on now, we all know Mark Shuttleworth is the guy who invented computers.
- burkay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9If it wasn't for this guy and many many great voluntary coders around the world,
I wouldn't be writing this from inside my Feisty box. - leohart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I first learned about Mark when he took that space travel as a vacation. My first though was he was simply bluffing around with his money going into space like that.
Then he started the Ubuntu project and I have to say : Ubuntu is AWESOME. I don't mind playing around with shell and config file but hey, I got my rainy days too. When that happen, I want it to just work.
The fact that Ubuntu is easy enough that my gf can use it means Ubuntu is ready for desktop prime time. - TheSeeker11, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Sorry cowabuse.
sudo apt-get remove --purge apt-jokes - h0ly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Actually, it's more like
$ debian/rules build cake
:) - cinnix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8or
wget cakes.com/cake.tar.gz
tar -xvzf cake.tar.gz
cd ~/cake-1.0/
./configure
make
sudo make install
or if you wanted to get fussy..... - bigtomrodney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5./configure
make
make checkinstall
There you go, now it's all nicely integrated with your Package Management. - randomgeek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7emerge cake

- mo0o0ocow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Alas, you'll have to do it without Super Cow Powers. :(
- Ademan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@cinnix
I wouldn't do it that way, you'd better use apt, otherwise you'll never be able to get rid of it :-) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Congrats Mark!
- cowabuse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Man, enough with the apt jokes.
- sanford42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@TheSeeker11

- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1 Use any method you like as long as the dependencies are included such as the frosting and icecream.

- Fairly, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Shuttle used to be cool. Until he came out of the closet and declared his love for Hairball.
