- rauz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+83Oh you mean the feature which this extension is made to improve? RTFA.
- selrahc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32You push F11 for this too. I took a couple of screenshots to hopefully give a good idea of the difference between F11, and F11 with Fullerscreen.

If I think a site is worthy of submitting to my favourite aggregator I'll do it. I don't need the content authors whoring every single page they ever write.
- subtle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27Someone just crawled up Kevin's ass and died there.
- Shawnosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Thanks. We the general public didn't realize we were using our PCs differently than you. Now that we know we can all do what you do. I feel much better now. Who knew that the "problem" was too many people using maximized windows.
Ever considered that people use their PCs differently and that is the whole point of a pick and choose add-on system? - rauz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Not sure if it's better but I use AutoHide, http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/autohide
No matter which one of these add ons you pick I can highly recommend the feature, it's amazing how much screen real estate you can gain when you use it. - icedevil6, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22I'm going to have to agree with that. I wonder just how many people read your comment, hit F11 and pulled the old "Ooooooh".
- zedj, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22Opera's F11 doesn't show any toolbars nor tabs.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15When you use the default F11 full-screen, you still have the URL/Search boxes, navigation controls, and the tab bar - The extension is intended to show *only* the webpage, and no other on screen controls (Aside from the scrollbar anyway)

"There is nothing worse that a web browser taking up my 30" monitor."
Nothing? - veza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Those who just want try the extension without reading the article:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4650 - Shawnosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I just tried it, and I agree with the article. For the 3 seconds it takes to install this is a good add-on to pick up.
- nizzy1115, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10This is how it should have been done to begin with.
- DarkPrince11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10now would you rather get a whole new web browser or an extension?....
- CRasH180, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Did you even read the post? F11 does not make all of the titlebars disappear. This extension gives the web pages all of your screen area. Much better than F11 alone. You are dugg down!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Ok then I won't. Dammit! I really wanted to try fullscreen, but you don't want me to. :-(
- btgoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Isn't this what a "kiosk" mode should be? Nice extension, I don't think I will be using it, but nice work none the less.
- tempusrob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Too many people also don't have 21"+ widescreen monitors. In fact, most people have a screen width of 1024 or less. Not exactly suitable for running windows side by side.
- Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6True. This is great. No more tool bars. This will be especially good when watching videos online.
- moomoobar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7iexplore -k
Not sure why this isn't in firefox somewhere. - grooviekenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Nice.. Now I have one window with my gmail, calendar and notebooks opened in separate tabs so that I can Cntl Page Up & Down through.
I just wish that I could more easily access the task bar when my pointer touches the edge of the screen so that I can switch to other applications and documents that I'm working on. - insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12The problem with mac users is that you can't maximize. Such a common feature, you'd think Jobs would have stolen it by now.
- dogred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I have the fastestfox. I've restarted 20 times already
- coollettuce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Correction: You'll only notice that Fullerscreen doesn't hide the bottom bar when you're scrolling.
- Speciou5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Does anyone else hate it when TV shows (especially local news networks) use Internet Explorer not in full screen mode to display websites? What's worse is if they have a click history or stupid toolbars, ugh!
- subscriber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Firefox on the mac (at least on my mac) doesn't have the View>Full screen option, so this might be useful to mac users who want a full screen option. That being said, the Fullerscreen add-on behaves differently on the mac -- it still leaves the menu bar across the top, and it leaves the Dock on screen unless you have it set to auto-hide. Otherwise, it works well.
- fareed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4For ones that want a minimalistic browser window even when not in fullscreen mode
TinyMenu ( http://trac.arantius.com/wiki/Extensions/TinyMenu ) + mouse gesture plugin of your choice =
http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/6044/tinyye6.png - CRasH180, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I was wondering if there was something out there that would provide me with full access to my screen in Firefox. Thank you venkat23 for posting this!
- StealthTomato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Are the two events related in any way?
- KeiOthic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Fullerscreen is still kinda buggy imo. At times, during normal maximized window mode, it'll half-way auto-hide the toolbars. Kinda hard to explain, but hopefully someone else is experiencing the problem :/
- johnnyrotten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What I'd really like is an extension that will allow me to view two pages side by side on a widescreen monitor. Most pages just fill up the middle of my monitor.
Also, is there a way to say "Open All in New Tabs" rather than having Firefox re-use the tabs I already have open. I hate losing them, and the existing workarounds are, well, workarounds. - WillyWonka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The newest versions of it will hide everything (I believe there is a pref to hide the scrollbar). Apparently it will also detect a projector stylesheet. At least thats what Dan Glazman says it will eventually do.
- selrahc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5FIrefox has it now too... how does extensibility make it suck? Opera is nice, but Firefox does not suck.
- PunkRampant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Great extension, but there's a reason this is Fullerscreen and not Fullestscreen. The scroll bar is still on the right and the status message pops up at the bottom whenever you click a link. Then it disappears, until you click a link again. Kind of annoying, but it's my only complaint.
- aspirinetu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and even more (no need to hide nav controls):
http://i14.tinypic.com/345hqvr.png - kitwaites, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@jaytb
It happens because you are "using" flash, which is effectively acting as a seperate program running within your browser. You can switch back to Firefox by clicking anywhere outside of the Youtube flash player (title bar works well), or by pressing Alt+Tab twice to return focus to Firefox.
Alternatively, you can use the "Content Area Focus" extension, which will return focus to your browser window when you press a key: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2616 - thefirstenemy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@jaytb
Try making sure your browser is selected, and not in the background. - staticdrifter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I wish it would hide the scroll bar as well.
- yuletide, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2wtf dead liiiink!
Here's a new one... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/465 ... - hsbsitez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If windows, tried Alt+Tab ?
Anyway, atleast this gives me for screen on youtube videos that I have been wanting for so long. - tamarind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Alternatively, you can place the navigation widgets onto the menu bar and hide the navigation toolbar. This saves a little screen space for tight displays and gives you a true full screen without another extension. Well...almost. It still won't hide the tab bar.
- aspirinetu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it doesn't make much sense to have a fullscreen mode if you're keeping the address and navigation bars. for that matters just tweak FF appearance to minimize buttons and menus use of screen space.
what i'm looking for, and i don't know if exists, is an extension that in fullscreen pops out a panel w/navigation buttons and address bar, anyone knows? - davodavo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Alt+Tab or pressing the Windows key are your best bet.
- ab2650, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I disagree that it works well. It really doesn't work any differently than hiding the status, url and quick bookmarks bars and maximizing the window. I would really like to see a "kiosk mode" for firefox on the mac and had hopes this would do the trick. Oh well.
If the author of the extention, Mr. Glazman, reads these comments, I would suggest that he remove the "should work fine on Mac" comment in the extension description. - ab2650, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I assume you're using a mac (and thus no View->Fullscreen menu item).
After installing and restarting FF there will be a little square icon in the lower right corner of the status bar. Clicking that will 'go fullscreen,' but it doesn't work so well on OS X; Just hides some bars and maximizes the window.
One caveat is that without a command or the F11 key working, you'll need to turn off and back on the status bar in View->Status Bar to click the icon to reverse it. IMHO it doesn't do what it's designed to do under OS X. - DreKor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2funny, i didn't need to buy a mac to know that.
Most apps don't need full screen, but it's nice for some of them. - jimmyjim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2from what i remember full screen f11 uses a different css stylesheet - projection
http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=ProjectionStylesheets seems to verify that for opera but i haven't checked - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ive been using full fullscreen for yrs
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1568
needed when you use and view the internet as an entertainment medium, not just some boring work environment - strabes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wierd - I don't have this extension installed and when I hit F11 it goes full screen and doesn't display the location bar, menu, status bar, or tab bar. I have the latest version of firefox 2. Strange. My situation would make this extension seem useless. =
- jasonsalas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This rules and is great for presentations. I run Fullerscreen on Firefox on a 24" Acer LCD monitor and it's awesome. It's also cool for the Digg Labs tools.
