Lots of news on the Compiz Fusion front
smspillaz.wordpress.com — This week brings, yet again, many more updates on Compiz Fusion. There are new plugins such as the full sphere deformation, a subtler application switcher, two new viewport switcher plugins, improvements to the dodge and freewins plugins, and the beginning of a new Emerald replacement codenamed "Jasper". Open source desktops just keep improving.

- maninalift, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2Looks good. Unfortunately I mistrust compiz because in my experience it doesn't interact so well with KDE (no not just the pager issue) and because I have looked at the code and a lot of it is uuuuuuuuuugly to me, but then I'm by no means an expert programmer and rather inclined towards 'correct' C++ so I would say that.
- DeviateSeptum, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3This is the real sin of KDE4. KDE3 has a few minor bugs when used with compiz. These will likely never get fixed now since all the developer attention is on KDE4. Compiz is a must-have application. To have such a stable desktop like KDE3 marred by slight incompatibilities with compiz is a shame. KDE4's compositing manager sucks in comparison. Why didn't they just integrate compiz instead? After almost 10 years of KDE use I've switched over to Gnome.

Let's hope so, it's very annoying on my Radeon Mobility 7500. :( - Philluminati, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1This guys set up of the sphere cube with the raised windows has really sold that feature to me. I hope Cube Reflection works with it as well
