    MS Office - OpenOffice
    Outlook - Evolution
    Notepad - Kate or Gedit
    Quicken - GNUCash
    MS Publisher - Scribus
    IE - Firefox, Opera, or Konqueror
    AIM - Pidgin, Kopete or the AOL's Linux version
    BitTorrent (no app specified) - Azureus
    Skype - Ekiga, or Skype's Linux version
    iTunes / WMP - Amarok or VLC (not exactly a direct replacement for iTunes, but that's another argument)
    CD Ripping (no app specified) - Sound Juicer or Grip
    Nero - K3B
    Media Center - MythTV
    Photoshop - The GIMP or Krita (again, I won't go into whether The GIMP really replaces Photoshop. I'm just citing the article)
    Partition Magic - GParted
