Linux founder crushes binary driver revolt

linuxdevices.com — The issue of whether binary-only kernel modules violate the GPL cropped up again this month on the Linux kernel mailing list, where Linus Torvalds thwarted an effort to ban them. Torvalds called banning binary modules "stupid," and told kernel hackers they should base decisions on technical merit, not political agendas.

    Carla, just soften a little. I guess that the article didn't help with the dramatic title though....
  • tuxchick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There were plenty of technical reasons against binary modules, if the article author had bothered to read the whole discussion. It's not just political.

    and it's Greg Kroah-Hartman, which the author misspelled twice.

    And there was no rebellion.

    No Diggs.
