Already done: http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/screenshots.html - scroll down and look for the "BSOD" screensaver. - eean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree Xen or VMware would make more sense then a CPU emulator like Qemu.
Cool thing anyways. - mmm_linux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0coolness.... dugg
- kweber103, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks Cool
- ConEEE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why bother? Just delete Windows and install Linux on another partition...
- anagy100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"OS/2 is finally being withdrawn on December 23, 2005".. Time to upgrade i guess?..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hun? that's useless...
- salmonmoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The nature of being superior, you realise, makes the word "more" redundant :)
Like "Full" once something is full, it can't be more full. - Thranduil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Personally, I'd try modifying coLinux well before modding QEMU. Emulating x86 on an x86 seems a bit redundant.
- bsoric, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lol @ GerbilSoft- I was going to say that.
Damn Timezones. - madeingermany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sure now all the corporate admins will scream "this is a huge security hole" ;)
- thehigherlife, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0seems tedious when you can just use vmware.
- wonko42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Now we need Windows as a screen saver for Linux o.O
- sonyoak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0fuking stupid. its a SCREEN-SAVER. supposed to be simple and "save" the screen and the computer. and whos gonna use that linux os when you are away from your computer? when you come back, you see a bunch of ppl swarming in front of your desk in lines trying to use the OS-On-A-ScreenSaver?
- superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0on the subject of linux... anyone have a suggestion for a good live CD for pulling files off of a messed up windows machine?
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yep. You can make a ubcd4win+ubcd combo CD... check out the UBCD4Win's forums. It works great!

Yes, get knoppix from http://knoppix.org there is currently no write support for NTFS, but it's perfect for rescuing and burning the files to a cd or dvd, or writing them to another hard drive with a fat32 partition. There is also a live version of ubuntu, but knoppix is much more superoir and requires no user input to get going. current stable version is 4.02. direct link to the ISO: http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/linux/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V4.0.2CD-2005-09-23-EN.iso - Stelmate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Superal1394: I used Knoppix Live for that and than installed Ubuntu and haven't gone back to windows except for gaming, and than it crashed on me again during a game. *shakes fist at bill gates*
