- rclay, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Rather abruptly, the availability of Lina was changed from June to July today.
- nofrak1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@OBKenobi - they're working on it for windows. It's called wine. And honestly, I feel like most linux users don't want MacOS programs - they either feel too controlled, or they're just bastardized *nix programs to begin with.
This could be really interesting, though. It could be a way for Windows users to try out all sorts of interesting Linux programs without messing with MinGW or Cygwin. Of course, KDE4 is already going to enable a lot of that.
Either way, people have more choices now, and that's almost always a good thing. - OBKenobi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It would be better if it was the other way around; Windows and Mac apps on Linux.

I guess I know what you mean, but if _new_ apps were developed on something like this then they would run anywhere. And if they manage to maintain the native look and feel everywhere then surely that's an attractive plus for a developer. If it gains popularity then who knows - we may get existing windows/mac apps ported to it.
