- BalancingAct, on 04/05/2009, -1/+12Meld is the best for me.
- capeterson, on 04/05/2009, -0/+6Beyond Compare introduced a native Linux version along side v3, last June. The article mentions it briefly on the second page.
- MrSpontaneous, on 04/05/2009, -2/+8The author fails to mention the best one out there: KDiff3
It has a 3 pane view, makes merging a breeze, and looks amazing. I would be lost at work without it. - MrSpontaneous, on 04/06/2009, -0/+5Because Linux offers software developers too many choices?
Wow. You're a smart one. - YourNameHere1, on 04/05/2009, -0/+5Meld works good for me.
- whiteguysamurai, on 04/05/2009, -1/+6Variety is the spice of life.
- wbkang, on 04/07/2009, -0/+3 a waste of screen space.
- pixelbeat_, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3I wrote a similar comparision a while ago:

- srg13, on 04/06/2009, -0/+3Is a diff tool too scary for you? And it's not like applications like WinMerge and Beyond Compare exist for Windows... Oh, wait...
- nickallen74, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2I hate Beyond Compare because you can't easily edit the files that are open like you would in a text editor (ie in place - you can only edit one line at a time).
- chmouel, on 04/05/2009, -1/+3ediff rocks when you figure out how to use it! Takes a while to get use to but there is some very powerfull command there!
- glinsvad, on 04/06/2009, -0/+2What's wrong with:
diff -y -W168 file1 file2 | less
(screen resolution: 1400x1050, system font: monospace 10pt) - rnawky, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Neat, I just got a new monitor and I run at 1920x1200. Thanks for sharing though.
- mrBitch, on 04/06/2009, -2/+3For those who are wondering what Xcode is... Xcode is to OS X as is Microsoft's Visual Studio is to Windows.
They are both IDE applications, however the full Xcode IDE is free.
Microsoft have free (cut-down) versions of Visual IDE components available for download, but the full version is not free.
An interesting comparison between using .NET and using Xcode (via IB) here :

- jwjcmw, on 04/05/2009, -5/+4Too bad Beyond Compare is windows only...it is hard to beat.
- rascilon, on 04/06/2009, -5/+0Useful, but another example of why the mainstream market will not embrace Linux.
- whiteglove, on 04/05/2009, -12/+2It's the year of the Linux desktop!
- nickycakes, on 04/05/2009, -16/+3i wonder if it can find the difference between this and other stupid linux spam on digg.
