  • rafgar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've had a Debian based HTPC for a while now. Mine wasn't at all difficult to set up.
  • deathguppie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actually went out and tried this about a year ago. I tried Knopmyth.. Gentoo (my distro), even debian. No go.

    The problem I had is that there are so many cards out there with so many specs that even if you get one with the right chipset. Chances are that your driver will not function properly, unless you pay through the gazoomba for it, and at that price.. what's the point?

  • Zonkzor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I've been tempted to build one of these but I doubt I would ever use it. My computer is the main place I watch movies and whatnot. As for TV I either download the episode or buy the DVD set. I'm suprised no one is selling pre-built boxes like these running on free software.
