I am Inningo Montoya.
You kill -9 my parent process
Prepare to vi. - tetsuo29, on 11/20/2008, -3/+37RTFA - He more than probably did it- he DID it. He's not even trying to contest the guilty verdict, he's now claiming that he didn't understand the plea bargain. He says his lawyer tricked him into taking a 15 to life sentence instead of 3 years. His file system may have been great- maybe it is great but, the guy is a murderer. He should spent the rest of his life in prison.
- suburbanWMD, on 11/20/2008, -1/+30He led the cops to his wife's body...he did it. There isn't a probably aspect to this, he's guilty.
- centerblack, on 11/20/2008, -1/+30Only on Wednesdays when we let him go online for an hour to submit patches.
- DteK, on 11/20/2008, -2/+29should have hid her body in a fat32 partition. would have gotten corrupted and they would have never found her!
- kvanderslice, on 11/20/2008, -0/+24Reminds me of the case of Joe NTFS - he killed his wife, admitted it, and then later tried to say he didn't do it.
Odd. - Macuyiko, on 11/20/2008, -0/+23Joe NTFS? Was that the brother of FAT Tony?
- trogdor282, on 11/20/2008, -0/+23I've often wondered, how did this psycho end up with a wife in the first place? From what I've heard I can't imagine spending more than 5 minutes with him without wanting to gouge my face out with a spoon.
Reiser called his lawyer delusional and claimed he picked jurors based on Chinese astrology. "It is a logical necessity that either I am delusional, or he is delusional."
Lol, right on, Hans. - tbranham, on 11/20/2008, -0/+23Yeah, but they had a falling out when Tony turned 32...
- nebben, on 11/20/2008, -2/+18ha, seriously, you need a killer file system to handle all your killer apps...
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -22/+37Hey Hans, If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. You got busted. You're lucky they didn't put you to death, luckier the family didn't choose street justice and take you out themselves. If it were a member of my family, I'd have probably killed you myself punk.
- analogkid01, on 11/20/2008, -1/+14FTA: "He told jurors his 31-year-old wife, whom he met in Russia..."
Mail-order bride.
It's more common than you'd think - I worked for a guy who runs a training company in Chelmsford MA who has a mail-order bride from Indonesia. I nearly busted a gut when he sheepishly confessed "Well, I met her through the mail..." Dork. - inactive, on 11/20/2008, -3/+16right cause i'm sure he reads digg now
- dse78759, on 11/20/2008, -2/+13The 20/20 or 60 minutes story on this guy really made him look like a freak. His wedding video has him dancing in a speedo.
Keep him in jail. - lowtolerance, on 11/20/2008, -0/+10Actually he's a cousin of Bill Ext, the third.
- ElGanyan, on 11/20/2008, -6/+16linux kills!
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9He killed his wife, lied to everyone, dragged the whole trial out with his ridiculous narcissism, and then faced with a life sentence - continued to show that selfishness by finally leading police to her body in exchange for a deal.
His days of being an intellect are over. He was on borrowed time the moment he lashed out in anger, and murdered his wife.
You don't get to exercise the right to be geek like individual anymore because you took away somebody else's right to live. STFU and do your time. - deskimo, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9Money quote:
'Reiser called his lawyer delusional and claimed he picked jurors based on Chinese astrology. "It is a logical necessity that either I am delusional, or he is delusional."'
Ahhhhhhh - yeah, I'm gonna go with you. - Bloodwine, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9The dangers of russian brides.
- Tehrab, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9Less murder, more FS work, imo.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -2/+11While (true),,,,,do
- dse78759, on 11/20/2008, -1/+9Let him re-try. He'll get 25 years for wasting the jury's time.
- NoTiG, on 11/20/2008, -2/+10This guy is scum... the fact that he would only tell where the body was if he got a "deal" doesn't make him any better in my eyes.. in fact I would have given him even more time in jail just for that. The possibility of only 15 years seems too short already and he wants less? He killed the mother of his kids and pathetically lied about it for months afterward until he was already found guilty (scumbag)
- centerblack, on 11/20/2008, -0/+8Met.
In.
Russia.
Probably just wanted to get to the USA. - DeathRay2K, on 11/20/2008, -1/+8Probably? He led them to her body!
- Bloodwine, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6There is a thin line between genius and crazy-as-hell.
- lowtolerance, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6what'd you expect? reiser is comedy gold for nerds
- dafragsta, on 11/20/2008, -1/+7Guru just seems like such an inappropriate word for someone who admits to killing his wife and is trying to get away with it. Whiz, genius, ... any of those kinds of words don't reflect a honed sense of balance and knowing your place in the world psychologically.
- sindex, on 11/20/2008, -1/+7***** him. Lock him up forever and throw away the key. People like him should be in prison forever, not trying to weasel their way out of punishment.
- angrykeyboarder, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5It was long ago fixed. But all previous entries go to history. That is where it came from.
- SawButter, on 11/20/2008, -1/+6Murder's cause: She's installed Vista over his Linux Computer.
- mycoplasma, on 11/20/2008, -1/+6I can;t believe he honestly thought he could get 3 years.
- Groovydoo, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5He is vain, he has no remorse, he insisted on his innocence till he got a sweet deal, and he is obviously a psychopath. Personally I think the $47,000 a year fee to house this jerk in a dank, depressing, California prison is worth the investment.
- bffoley, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5This is one of the things I hate about working in the IT/Web industry, it's full of guys like him (not meaning murders, I mean personality). They think they're so much smarter and better than everyone, think they can and should get away with everything because if they do it, it's right, everyone's out to get them, etc etc.
Reiser did a ***** job of covering up the murder, went against all the advice given to him in the trial, and took a deal that really isn't going to help him much. He did this to himself but he'll never admit it (even to himself). - iamghost, on 11/20/2008, -3/+7A Vista user would have killed him/herself before lashing out on someone else.
- Theli, on 11/20/2008, -3/+7"If it were a member of my family, I'd have probably killed you myself punk."
More likely, you'd post an angry entry on your blog.
Punk. - djholybolt, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4unfunniest coment i've seen on digg for using 'linky-loo'.
- IanCurtisZombie, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4sudo apt-get install oj simpson ***** ????
- noseeme, on 11/20/2008, -9/+13His filesystems are great, but seriously, he probably did it.
- DteK, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3now that was funny
- ashgtx, on 11/20/2008, -1/+4At least put a linux box inside his cell so that he can continue on his file system. The guy may be full of holes but ReiserFS is great.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3I've seen lots of jury time wasted, and unless the time waster also inconveniences the Judge, nothing tends to happen. I do WISH time wasters would get punished, but wishing isn't the same as believing it'll happen.
- HorseloverFat8, on 11/20/2008, -1/+4EXT3 is much better anyway.
- rolf, on 11/20/2008, -2/+5Nutcase.
- bffoley, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3Let me first say that I thought he was guilty even before the trial ending.
That being said, we didn't know 100% that she was dead until he lead them to the body. There was a mountain of circumstantial evidence pointing to foul play, but there wasn't a hell of a lot of proof that she didn't run back to Russia. I think if he didn't take the stand against his lawyer's wishes, they would have had a lot harder time getting a guilty verdict. - mycoplasma, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3"Reiser wrote (.pdf) that he believed DuBois suffered from an excess of oxytocin.
'Persons with oxytocin excess enjoy betraying others,' Reiser wrote."
Oh, the irony... - jxfallout, on 11/20/2008, -1/+4But the VIsta user would've been asked numerous times if he/she was certain he/she wanted to go through with it.
UAC: Slowing Down Suicides, One Question At A Time - inigomntoya, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3That's it! I'm taking this table to our next company strategy meeting. When it comes up about whether or not we migrate to Linux, I whip this bad boy out!
"Let's make sure we choose our file systems appropriately. Sure Linux is 'free' and 'open'. But, what's a murdered wife going to cost this company? Huh? Huh?!" - kmb1794, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3http://mylifeofcrime.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/n ...
