- Ellipsys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I can only hope. The Japanese, at this point in time, are not really into PC gaming, and thereby are not limited by fact that there are lots of people who expect games to work on windows. Take a look at Japanese hardware - much of it is focused on aesthetics and size rather than raw power, making it an idea candidate for Linux. If Japanese gamers decide they want to game on PC, and develop for Linux, we're looking at a major shift in how PC gaming will be perceived in that country, and how Linux will be seen around the world.

- andreyknure, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Being a technical support engineer of web hosting providers I would like to say Linux is one the best operating systems which is widely used in the web hosting industry. Just take a look at the web hosting companies placed at my web page - www.andreyknure.narod.ru All these companies use Linux to manage their servers.
- TheZorch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'm not really surprised by this much. Japan never really embraced Windows all that much. What really kept Windows PCs alive there is the immensely popular Hentai PC game market which are a part of the mainstream in Japan unlike the US. Mac is also very popular over in Japan as well.
- marcusHH, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A good and wise choice, Japan! :)

- schestowitz, on 10/10/2007, -19/+9Well, Japan's government is embracing Linux (also ODF), so this was only a matter of time.
