LEGO NTX Firmware Source Code Released

| There's no word on whether LEGO has submitted the license to either the

| quick read of the license (IANAL) suggests that it isn't GPL compatibleb

The idea of 'Lego education' and hacking is very symbiotic. It fosters creativity too.- joegibes, on 11/07/2007, -7/+4Lol "IANAL"

- theciuffo, on 11/10/2007, -1/+14Ok, this article has sparked a minor obsession in me. Make that major. Back in the 7th grade (that would be 2003) I had a website (www.thecubesite.com) on which I posted reviews, cheat codes, and all kinds of stuff about the Game Cube (I was like 11, ok?) Anyway, one day, I drew a picture in pencil on a piece of computer paper, scanned it, and uploaded it to the site. This was my vision of the "next generation" GameCube. Of course, this was back when N5 was just a dream. My vision was that the console would be comprised of multiple cubes that could be reconfigured. A cube might have storage space, or a slot for an N64 game, or maybe a graphical accelerator. Point is, it was a totally configurable system. I suppose once you plugged everything in, the machine would network all the components together. This is remarkably similar to this article. So, after seeing this entry, I've been looking through files and CDs and flash drives looking for a copy of that damned picture (as well as the rest of my beloved website) which I had on my old HP laptop (four computers ago). Unfortunately, archive.org has nothing because the new owners of thecubesite.com block their robots.
All of this only exists in my memory so I guess that's all the proof I have, but I was one smart 11 year old. - cdawzrd, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2I do work for the organization that writes Robolab, what used to be the main educational software for LEGO mindstorms. The LEGO NXT is quite a capable little teaching tool, and it has surprising power when it comes to demo-ing image processing, etc... lots of fun :-)
- retrac1324, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1According to there website, there will be a "Teleporter" addon in Q1 2008.

Well, guess I'd better save all my money for the next... however long... - ifknot, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1the shadows are all wrong, clearly photoshopped
