KDE loses stalwart, Uwe Thiem

tectonic.co.za — A week before he died was the last time I had contact with Uwe. We were discussing his article on the KDE4 desktop that we published at the start of July. I had no idea that he was in poor health. Uwe will be greatly missed by all who knew him and free software in Africa is poorer for his passing.

  • einfeldt, on 07/14/2008, -0/+4But at least part of him will live on in the code. It is hardly a substitute for Uwe in person, but this is the power of Free Open Source Software -- Uwe's genius lives on in his code, and the beauty of his ideas will be living amongst in the code.
