- nihilism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ok, this is how much things like gnome and e17 own windows and hell, even mac, i've always loved how linux looks, and its fast, and it's non expensive, I ran an extremly beta version of e17 on my pentium 2 600 mhz lappy, with 228 mb of ram and it friggen flew, screw you people.

looking like windows is not a bad thing...each person likes things a certain way. if person A likes the windows way but not windows...kde is for them. if they like onClick for menus, then E, *box, etc is for them.

- katsumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think all the Enlightenment talk is pretty funny -- please -- are you serious? Enlightenment has been consistently one of the most ugly, bizarre and non-sensical WM's out there, and their are a lot of of weird ones out there. Any WM can look good in screenshots, but using it (ie: configuring it, working with it, etc) is another story. Plus -- for all the talk about it looking good, need I dig up the freaking ultra-nasty dreaded DR13 screenshots?! You did it to yourselves!!

The design ideas present in that shot haven't changed all that much. I will give E a lot of credit though, they have been working on it for a long time, and a lot of good things have come out of it.. but, its a lot of weird eye candy that doesn't buy you much but headaches.
This KDE light is probably the nicest KDE has ever looked, but I agree they basically just do a strange job of emulating everyone else into a bit mush, but at least they do it well. If you want a good interface to X, try Ion :) - randtoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0man! That is uglier than my ex!

- talishte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Please, this are the worst screen shots of the KDE Desktop, but Enlightenment is better than any desktop and you don't need a lot of ram to use, for me KDE is better than Windows Vista but Enlightenment still in the top.
