- dualscreenman, on 10/20/2007, -0/+7You don't do what now?
- BrotherGA2, on 10/19/2007, -1/+7learn how to reply...
- renegadeafk, on 10/20/2007, -0/+6That would be a great idea for digg though, I wonder why this has never been suggested
- wolf08, on 10/19/2007, -2/+6It's pretty much the same thing. I have no idea why I didn't see this when I submitted my entry.
Maybe I'm noobish, but I didn't know there was a way to merge articles? - schestowitz, on 10/19/2007, -5/+8Merge with http://digg.com/linux_unix/KDE_4_0_Beta_3_Released ?
- br0ther, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2I think you're pretty much right, on the other hand we have Gnome that looks like a face injury and makes your eyes bleed.
- polymorphist, on 10/19/2007, -1/+3I'll have to try this again. I'm having high expectations for KDE4, but the Live CD I tried out was kind of disappointing.
- seuaniu, on 10/19/2007, -0/+2I agree. Thats the only reason I don't use KDE. I know that technically its a great desktop, but for some reason it bugs my eyes. Its something about how QT draws widgets on the screen, I think. I've gone through lots of themes and whatnot, but the effect on my eyes stays there, and its distracting. I'm not knocking KDE as a desktop in any way at all, I just can't use it. So, I'm stuck with gnome. It does what I need it to do for the most part, but I'd love to be able to use KDE's superior software without it giving me a headache.
- edicius, on 10/19/2007, -1/+3It has
- BlackWarp, on 10/21/2007, -0/+2The Kubuntu packages are always *****. Always stuff missing and broken, whereas others work great. Digg me down *ubuntu fanboys!
- LinuxGalore, on 10/19/2007, -0/+2Im a KDE fan but I will be honest, KDE 4.0 wont be truly worth using until around version 4.1/4.2 for most users because allot of the associated KDE 4.0 apps are still very rough around the edges even though they have been ported over.
- puelocesar, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1These Kubuntu's packages are horrible, and outdated.. They are saying it's Kde4 beta3 but many things on kde.org beta3 announcement aren't on Kubuntu's packages...
- grg183, on 10/22/2007, -0/+1Just tried out the openSUSE based KDE4 Beta 3+ liveCD (available here: http://home.kde.org/~binner/kde-four-live/) and all I can say is: WOW !!
I must admit I'm a long time KDE user so I'm obviously biased here ..although I've spent several months using GNOME and others ...but definitly KDE4 blows them all off. Of course its not really usable yet but the desktop appearance and expirience is already amazing :) ...KDE4 will the the open-source killer app I think :)
..keep up the excellent work guys !! - toxicityj, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1guess so :/
- SteveMax, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1There used to be one, a long, long time ago.
- mmmiiikkkeee, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1a finished product works better then a product in apha/beta.... well I would hope... any ways I look forward to the improvements coming in to KDE :)
- DoctorWhohaa, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1I agree, but I don't think that it will take up to 4.2. They seem to have a lot of the apps moved over, so it's just a little spit and polish. What I'm looking forward to is the porting of Koffice to windows. Specifically Kugar. Birt is such a pain in the ass to work with, and Crystal Reports is too expensive for small business.
- HeavyWave, on 10/21/2007, -0/+1I wonder when will it go live for Windows as they said before?
- toxicityj, on 10/19/2007, -4/+4do we really need 3 articles on this?
- AlleyKatz, on 10/19/2007, -1/+1Omg....DUH!
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -1/+1Because its unfeasiable.
- phantom_mullet, on 10/21/2007, -2/+1OK, this may just be me, but does anyone else think KDE is a bit too...uhhh...I don't know if this is the word I'm looking for, but....cartoonish? I don't know...I've never been a big fan of KDE because I feel like it lacks the "polish" and more professional look of other options. Feel free to digg me down if you disagree. I just felt like getting that out there.
- LocDawg, on 10/19/2007, -3/+1lol how do i got this on my ubuntu guutsy gibbun?
- ronaldmonster, on 10/21/2007, -4/+1Gah, it's gonna get leaked so go trough the trouble?
- DigitalPioneer, on 10/19/2007, -5/+2@CrazyFerret
Go troll somewhere else. - CrazyFerret, on 10/25/2007, -24/+2I don't now wat this is but window s 98 is beter
