KDE 4.2 is flat out going to rock

movingparts.net — That’s my prediction. Of course, the truth of the matter is that KDE 4.2 (trunk) flat out rocks today. Seriously. I have never been more excited about the Linux desktop than I am right now.

  • DBeta, on 11/11/2008, -0/+10Haven't tried 4.2 yet. I liked the concepts in 4.0, but I found it almost unusable. Looking at screenshots from 3.0 to 3.5, each .1 release was a HUGE change for the better. So by KDE 4.5, I can guess that it will be a rock solid, clean to the max, desktop environment.

  • Dongvid, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4I'm using KDEMOD on ArchLinux and I've never been happier. I'm at version 4.1.3 with some backports and my constant distro and de-flipping has come to an end. I'm settled on KDE4 and archlinux.

  • puelocesar, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Strange, It's working here on kde 4.2 trunk from project neon.. Or you are talking about 4.1? On a kde 4.1 system I have that thing is completely broken, thought it got better with recent updates

    Meh, I'll probably just install 4.1.3 and wait until 4.2 is out for real.

    Because they didn't tell us that last time, only said it -after- that we weren't supposed to use it... or use and not cry when it all breaks down horribly.
