- Phaedra2008, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3I don't see how popularity would hurt security or stability. The point is there is no need to change the OS design. IN terms of usability Linux is there already. The problem is marketing. The problem is getting Linux into people's hands. The problme is getting well designed preloaded systems into stores.
Mac OS X is based on FreeBSD. It is UNIX. Has getting Mac OS X into the hands of consumers hurt UNIX? I don't think do. - Philluminati, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2It's a double edged sword. Linux and Unix claim a great reputation of being secure and stable. I don't it to lose these.
