- alterImperson, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Tried it out, crashed on my system after changing themes, and it behaves a bit weirdly. I'll give it a try again later, once it matures a bit.
- FapCommander, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2There are none, one of the main reasons I hate my mac is beacuse of the dock, I can't satnd using it
- n0odles, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2You mean best looking Looking Glass Dock made by Sun on their Solaris operating system, GPL licensed for the open source community. Stop ***** comparing it to Apple's OSX.
- UKsHaDoW, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2You can go less dialogues deep. i.e rather than clicking on the menu, then finding the app and then clicking on it. Just click the icon.
A general rule of UI development, Less clicks = better. - ptFoe, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1what are it's advantages over Avant?
a pity they suffer linux anti-screenshots syndrome

The akamaru physics engine has been removed and will be added as a plugin later, so it is a really solid dock and you dont have to have the icons bouncing around and going crazy if you dont want to.
http://www.kiba-dock.org - oobuntu, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1what are the advantages of using a dock over the regular kicker/apps menu? the write-ups never explain the benefits, they always just assume you know.
- LANjackal, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Actually, the Dock is one of my least favorite things about OS X anyway. I run linux with normal panels set to auto-hide, thank you very much. I prefer that my app shortcuts remain invisible if I'm not using them.
- yetAnotherCroc, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1mostly a dock is different rather than inherrently better. What is best depends on what kind of workflow you want. To me it helps to have the launcher and the taskswitcher be the same icon (like in awn, couldnt figure out how to do this in cairo-dock. Will have to check again) and to have access to a bunch of applets. The terminal applet on AWN gets a lot of love from me, as do the stacker based applets.
- mobling, on 03/14/2009, -0/+0It's kind if like compiz. It has some really OH WOW! effects. It is nice eye candy, but like compiz, you don't really need it, but it's cool to show to all of your windows friends. Lot of people worked hard on it, so I'm going with the flow for a while at least.
- defconoi, on 05/05/2008, -1/+1:)
- mobling, on 03/14/2009, -0/+0OK OK, but you gotta stop and take a deep breath. I feel the same way about Apple, but look at it this way. GNU OS's will soon be much better and best of all. Free in all ways.
- SDL486, on 05/05/2008, -1/+1sick wid it....
