- abbathdoom, on 11/28/2008, -0/+18While the desktop is still a 3 horse race it is increasingly looking like Linux has embedded devices and small form factor computers in the bag.
- HonoredMule, on 11/29/2008, -0/+8The more the merrier, especially when standards are (inevitably) established that enable software interoperability and thus maximum freedom of choice.

- bender240, on 11/29/2008, -0/+5Yeah the Gigabyte M528 looks pretty sweet, I guess... I'm still waiting for a Linux OS based mobile device with a SIM card, Wi-Fi, double/folding touch screen display which protects itself and has an external number pad (like the Nokia E90, but with another touchscreen instead of the keyboard...) when closed, and a camera that's flippable (like on the XPS M1210) so I can video conference or flip it and record other stuff. Hot-swappable batteries would be nice too... I think that about covers it.
- num3thod, on 11/28/2008, -1/+6Ohhh man that Gigabyte M528 looks sexy! Can't wait to see a review...
- matthekc, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4Can I put my at&t sim card in it and then use it as a cellphone?
- rollerboy, on 11/29/2008, -0/+3The Aigo P8860 is pretty much the same device as the M528. Here is the most extensive review I have seen thus far: http://www.pocketables.net/2008/10/review-aigo-p88 ...
- tripzero, on 11/30/2008, -0/+2moblin is tailored to MIDs not phones like openmoko, andriod. OpenZaurus is tailored to one device, maemo is for internet tablets but is more specific to nokia devices...

- KantPredict, on 11/29/2008, -0/+1I see where this is coming from: MOBile LINux. Not to be an Nintendo fanboy, but can't Nintendo claim for copyright of the name 'Moblin' (creatures in the 'Zelda' franchise)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recurring_enemies_in_ ...
- rollerboy, on 11/29/2008, -1/+2The hardware is not there yet. Intel's MIDs are expensive and huge if they are to compete with Apple. I was waiting for the MIDs to be released to buy one but they are just a shrunken tablet PC. Right now I'm more interested in the Archos 5, if only Archos did not protect their devices from mods like a mother grizzly bear.
- scabbers, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1Moblins!! Take bow wow with you!

(I'm sorry, I've just been waiting for a while...) - javaroast, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1Apple doesn't have a MID type device... yet.
