- racco, on 11/06/2007, -7/+203does the URL of the site start with www.my, and end with space.com?
- Dankoozy, on 11/05/2007, -42/+232Finally, a spark of humor. hidden deep beneath the pile of $200 walmart pc spam, abusive monopolist hate and ubuntu-specific howtos
- gumby013, on 11/04/2007, -0/+115Since Digg is a misspelling and it uses gradients, it would qualify as Web 2.0 Fluff.
- richardiscool, on 11/06/2007, -3/+116www.myamazingfreelesbianpornspace.com
- jeremyduffy, on 11/04/2007, -1/+84Moderately amusing.
- goflyers, on 11/03/2007, -1/+81I actually got here from slashdot. Somehow I think that should cause an infinite loop.
- GliTCH82, on 11/05/2007, -5/+80RON PAUL HAS 5 PS3s!
- MadOtaku, on 11/04/2007, -6/+78Do you realize that you basically said "Finally a funny pic! All that tech stuff and news sucked." People like you are the reason digg has gone down the tubes.
- ctour95, on 11/06/2007, -0/+65My site was going to be web 2.0 fluff, but I hadn't misspelled anything so it became the real deal.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/06/2007, -1/+61I do have to commend the author for saying this:
"(Note: if you got here from Digg, Slashdot, or Reddit, then I deserve to be sent to /dev/null)" - Vulphaestion, on 11/03/2007, -2/+54It falls under the Web 2.0 "Fluff".
- Adrianc333, on 11/03/2007, -1/+46The author himself seems to have placed two huge gradients on his site.
- OBKenobi, on 11/06/2007, -11/+50Put it in the design section where it belongs.
- Nougat, on 11/04/2007, -6/+45I have to disagree with the experts-exchange one. Keeping in mind that different areas are moderated differently, the areas I have frequented are moderated very well, and the contributors are knowledgable.
"Kottke, Doctorow, Gruber, 37s" == "Elitist name-dropping to make me look cool" - GliTCH82, on 11/03/2007, -3/+36www.myrevolutionaryphysicsprojecttowarpspace.com

Ask and you shall recieve. - Nerfdude, on 11/04/2007, -3/+28who the hell are Kottke, Doctorow, Gruber, or 37s? there must be some internet i'm not familiar with.
be honest, this is a pretty weak article, but it's at the top because of name dropping and the fact that it's a pic. the only way it could get more diggs would be if the flowchart had been engraved on the back of a macbook. - inactive, on 11/03/2007, -0/+23That goes in all five categories.
- Nougat, on 11/04/2007, -12/+34RON PAUL WILL REQUIRE ADHERENCE TO W3C STANDARDS!!!!
- inactive, on 11/04/2007, -1/+23Ah, text you can't select, almost just as bad as Flash, which (s)he forgot to mention
- GeckoSlayer, on 11/02/2007, -1/+22Yes, but his site's URL doesn't have a crafty spelling error. Have you done your flow-chart study?
- inactive, on 11/03/2007, -2/+21I can't decide if digg is web 2.0 fluff or a fanboy site.
- billyfalconer, on 11/02/2007, -0/+17Like overusing slashes?
- TheMidnight, on 11/03/2007, -3/+19Digg is /dev/null. See "it's from Digg, Slashdot or reddit."
- Nougat, on 11/04/2007, -2/+17RON PAUL WILL REQUIRE ALL INTERNET FORUM THREADS TO REMAIN ON TOPIC!!!
- SteelFrog, on 11/02/2007, -0/+15Anyone have a mirror of the image? For some reason, the site is blocked at work.
- Mysticum, on 11/03/2007, -11/+26What are we going to Digg next, a page dedicated to "Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road" jokes? Jesus Christ. Buried.
- inactive, on 11/04/2007, -0/+1437signals.. they make basecamp, campfire, etc. One of their programmers, David Heinemeier Hansson was the guy who wrote the Rails framework.
- sircomix, on 11/06/2007, -0/+14I can't quite tell but I think my site is the real deal! I am very proud of myself. Dugg for making me feel good.
-fanboy noob egoblogger - arjie, on 11/04/2007, -0/+14Cory Doctorow (BoingBoing - Rather well known, featured in xkcd, Internet famous), Kottke is that dude who had asked for money while running his blog, I mean, he had this fundraiser and his readers gave him money to just keep blogging, supposedly one of the first pro bloggers. John Gruber is half of who made Markdown (which is a really awesome idea, in my opinion). I have no clue what 37s is.
- Phyltre, on 11/03/2007, -1/+14I'm not too sure that was Anonymous. And if it was, he finally blew his cover.
- noots, on 11/02/2007, -0/+11for a start take a look at the yellow digg icon. There used to be a large gradient on the main background, but that appears to have been changed with a solid pale blue.
- crgh, on 11/06/2007, -7/+18www.myfunnycounterexampledoesntfitinthisspace.com
- DJNewStyle, on 11/03/2007, -0/+11Digg is the posterchild for web 2.0. Aside from the gradient on the Digg button and the rounded corners, the domain is a misspelling. All the misspelled domains were chosen because the original was taken.
- meatmcguffin, on 11/03/2007, -3/+13I'm not sure that i agree. It's only mispelt because dig.com was taken and there are no reflections or obvious gradients; it looks too matte to be web 2.0
- WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -0/+10Yeah, I'm a big fan of the word "or" and of the spacebar. It's a dying art form.
- modularsky, on 11/02/2007, -0/+10By this flowchart, Digg is 'Web 2.0 Fluff'.
"Is the domain name a clever misspelling of something?" - "does the layout contain at least one gradient, reflection, or saturated color?" - WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -5/+14Oh god, just give it a rest... can we _please_ have just _one_ thread which starts out being apolitical and friggin _stays_ that way?? Here's a hint: the Ron Paul non-sequiturs are rapidly approaching the Chuck Norris crap for the Passe Award.
- TheOneGreatX, on 11/03/2007, -1/+10welcome to Humor Land, may I help you?
- Koldkompress, on 11/04/2007, -0/+9In web 2.0, we call it that script shell blu
- floejoe, on 11/02/2007, -1/+10http://www.duggmirror.com
- slipkn0tz23, on 11/06/2007, -1/+9The actual site is web 2.0 fluff. The majority of the community makes it a Fanboy site.
- MacParrot, on 11/04/2007, -2/+10Apparently my home page (no I won't link to it here to prevent you spam accusation junkies from having seizures) falls into Web 2.0 fluff, Fanboy Site, Newb Ego Blogger, AND /dev/null. If I could work on getting ads cleverly hidden it would qualify for Brain Rot too.
Hold on, I'll be right back! - michaelGregoire, on 11/02/2007, -1/+8The problem is that the chart's creator's list of "cool" sites are uncool themselves.
- LewisBreaker, on 11/04/2007, -1/+8I have no idea who any of those people are!
- bmartin, on 11/03/2007, -0/+7Think of /dev/null as a void. It's a file that's empty all the time, kind of like register $R0 is always hard-wired to 0 in SPIM assembly, or kind of like Yoshi's stomach in Super Mario World.
People often put thing in /dev/null (usually via a pipe or redirect) to get rid of them. You can also copy /dev/null over a file to erase its contents without changing the file creation timestamp. It's basically just POSIX humor so ***** Linux zealots like myself can laugh at the end of the flowchart. - JesusDeluxe, on 11/02/2007, -0/+7Dugged firefox extension adds diggmirror link on every story. my work does not block diggmirror so this saves me about 1-2 times every day.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/425 ... - DJNewStyle, on 11/02/2007, -0/+7I agree, the left stuff out. Like, does your site allow for overly critical comments from chromosome deficient virgins?
- tainc, on 11/06/2007, -0/+7Fortunately for you, you only fall under Web 2.0 Fluff. Don't forget how flowcharts work.
- GliTCH82, on 11/03/2007, -0/+6Whatever, people have different opinions about what's funny and what's not. They actually researched to find what it is that most people around the world can agree is funny, and it ended up being:
"A couple of New Jersey hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator, in a calm soothing voice says: "Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says: "OK, now what?"
Tell me you find that funny. -

What is Digg?
