[1] Google unveils Chrome source code and Linux port

They did "make" it for Linux as well. They haven't packaged it up into a neat little bundle yet, and there are still some quirks to iron out, but it isn't intended solely for Windows.
Secondly, Google runs Linux on most of its internal desktop computers. If they thought it was "lame" and weren't concerned with it because of its "low" market share, this wouldn't be the case.
Thirdly, 2% market share is a LOT of people, and a lot of potentially dissatisfied users.
Fourthly, Microsoft is so far below their sales predictions for Vista it's not even funny. A lot of big customers aren't switching and Microsoft is losing money. If Vista was so awesome this wouldn't be happening.
Lastly, Linux rules, Microsoft drools. - linuxisbest, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4No thanks, I'll just wait for the native LINUX port. This is possibly the one and only digg that has the word LINUX in it that I will not digg. Even though it works great and you can run windows programs with WINE it's not good to run a browser on wine. Why would you open your LINUX box up to all that plagues microsuck? I've had to uninstall wine 3 times and because I browsed with Opera and IE, then got tagged with malware. Don't get me wrong, I love wine, just not for browsing the web.

- limeyTart, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Brilliant article - thanks chap, it works a charm!
- brianpeiris, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1Nice, just tried it out. It renders fast even under wine but there are certain things that are slow, Google Maps for example is slow when scrolling the map.
Does anyone know of a demo page for the features of the V8 engine? - inactive, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1Aw *****, too bad it only works in Ubuntu :P
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -9/+0Just run Vista. There's a reason why Google didn't make Chrome for Linux because Linux is lame and has no market share. Linux desktop market share is like 2 percent?
