(geez some titles) - theratster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ cwo655321
Yes, these are for ubuntu, as can be seen by the ubuntu logo on each one!
- FameMoney, on 10/12/2007, -2/+46This post is 100% on the first page, Quality + Ubuntu + Wallpapers = Digg Front Page
- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3These are indeed high quality, just like it says on the tin. Muchly recommended.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -20/+9They're "GIMP" high quality not "high quality".
- kalpeshsharma, on 10/12/2007, -23/+11These are not high quality. They are for people who can't afford Windows Vista. If you want high quality wallpapers, get these from the Flickr photoset belonging to Digg top user brajeshwar:

Also, try these:

If you honestly think the Ubuntu backgrounds are better, I understand why GIMP functions as it does. - GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4http://technology.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/8020/
That's some high-quality goodness right there. - vishah, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2@kalpeshsharma

Software != artist.
A bad artist can make good software look bad just as a good artist would make bad software look good. Seen the work of GIMP professionals recently? (rhetorical) - GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1GIMP professionals? LOL! There are no graphic design professionals using Linux. That's what you fail to understand.
Care to prove me wrong? If you do, I'll never post the above statement again. - Sunnz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have seen a lot of 3D work done on Fedora in uni and a lot of movies involves 3D do use a cluster of Linux/BSD/Unix systems to do the rendering.
- XISUPERMANIX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Their FF ones are sweet.
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15You can find much better wallpapers at KDE Look, Gnome Look and Gnome Art and other sites:

(By the way, the server's down from the Digg effect already.) - Eihcet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Since the page doesn't load right now, What makes a wallpaper OS Specficic? Do they all say Ubuntu on them?
Ah, finally loaded, looks like that's a yes. D'oh. - RandaII, on 10/12/2007, -44/+2looks ugly just like ubuntu, ***** ubuntu its a ***** wanna be linux distro anyway.
- BigBadger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I thought I told your troll ass to ***** off yesterday. You would do well to listen to your betters.
- djGentoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11We've told you before, Mr. "I'm too 1337 for my shirt", people don't want to spend hours tweaking Slackware trying to get X to work.
- PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2C'Mon Guys, give him a break... Hi screen-name is Randall, that's gotta make a boy a little pissy.
I mean getting smacked around at school for your screen-name's gotta be rough.
Now, play nice with Randall.
- MrLeEx, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1server down! lol
- Konstantino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Lol!!!!

- Konstantino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Lol!!!!
- geeke, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1server not working!
- CrazyZ, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3So since this is like the 50th ubuntu article (though it would apply to Linux in general) on Digg, does this mean that Ubuntu is now Linux?
Reading Digg you would think so huh?- wedderburn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9whats this linux you speak of and can you run it on ubuntu. ;)
- coredump0x01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1@CrazyZ
Ubuntu has always been Linux. - PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Wedderburn... LOL!!
- daza, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1http://duggmirror.com/linux_unix/High_Quality_Ubuntu_Wallpapers/
Doesn't do much at all though :(- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Then why do you post it.. The images weren't cached.
- cruzlee, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Have any of these wallpapers been ported to Windows yet?
- rezist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not yet, but you can quite easily install and run Ubuntu on your machine.

- rezist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not yet, but you can quite easily install and run Ubuntu on your machine.
- farmidable, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Better yet go to http://www.farmiable.com for a different kind of desktop wallpaper.
- antechinus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Will these wallpapers work with my designer desktop curtains? How can I be sure that these wallpapers are Ubuntu certified?
- PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1The question is, will they go with your ubuntu sofa/loveseat set.
- rezist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2You can be sure they're Ubuntu certified because of the Ubuntu ***** logo. What's the point of these comments, would you glue a Nissan logo on your Ford Festiva?
- Zaggynl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Please remove the Ubuntu part...
Wallpapers aren't OS specific.- rezist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Please explain why you would want a desktop with an Ubuntu logo on a machine running Windows. If a wallpaper contains an OS logo within, it is OS specific. That's why they're created. If you enjoy a specific OS logo, simply install that OS on your computer. Here's an example you've heard of a Mustang right? How about a Saleen Mustang? Probably not the best analogy however, an item or product that becomes branded often takes on the name of the brand.
- Cwo655321, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@rezist
you are an idiot!
here's a reason; someone likes ubuntu, but uses windows or or osx (or whatever else).
- PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Where can I get the binries of these wallpapers? I like to roll my own. :o)
- PaulRay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Where can I get the binaries of these wallpapers? I like to roll my own. :o)

- Nerevar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4These wallpapers are all pretty lousy. I know I've seen much higher-quality ubuntu ones before.
- Kratos76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Gimme a zipfile PLEASE!
