Beagle, Gnome Deskbar Applet, VLC, Firefox, amaroK, CheckGmail and Compiz are pretty well know *nix(and beyond in some cases) apps, and not 'Ubuntu apps'. I'm still wondering why they even listed Firefox when it's installed by default.
NTFS write/read link/info is outdated and doesn't even mention a method for Gutsy... nice job with the 'Turn off the system beep' tho ;)
The article seems to be a bit old... could be bad news for people trying to apply it to current versions of Ubuntu as things have changed.
