    Great, make peoples wireless work and make any of their other interfaces ( like Ethernet ) stop working at the same time! I love a well written tutorial.

    And since there is no bug report in launchpad for this problem I suggest you submit one so that peoples hardware will work out of the box without having to follow the poor instructions from your blog.
  • trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The quality of the tutorial was the lesser of my grips, what I have a problem with is the vast amount of tutorials there are on Ubuntuforums and other sites where people go to great lengths to document their often hackish work arounds for bugs but never take the time to actually file a bug report.

    If network-manager is crashing, the solution is not to tell everyone how to edit /etc/network/interfaces by hand, the solution is to file a bug report so that the developers can fix the problem.

    Again, there are no bug reports in launchpad mentioning problems with the card in question https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bugs?field.searchtext=D-Link+DWL-G122&search=Search I would submit a bug report but because I have not encountered the problems myself that would not be very useful.

    If you have said hardware, I ask that you file a bug report, it takes about as much time as writing a submission for digg, but it helps many more people in the long run.
