- SQLserver, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14I personally use Chandler.
http://chandlerproject.org/
It's open source, and pretty powerful. It also runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It also supports plugins, and is good for daily tasks and long term tasks. - whosmatt, on 07/13/2009, -0/+13Dugg for "pay annual illuminati membership fee"
- samanathon, on 07/14/2009, -1/+7Check out Remember the Milk - they have addons for the iPhone, GMail, Thunderbird, Twitter, iGoogle, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc
And, there's even a Deskbar widget for Linux!
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/ - DontThinkSo, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3I use conky to display my RTM tasks on my desktop. It's pretty spiffy.
- DreadKnight, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3I have a great memory.
- centran, on 07/14/2009, -0/+3Thats is the great thing about Remember the Milk. You can add it or use it with a bunch of applications.
Now only if a good kde plasmoid would get developed or remember the milk would tweak the google module interface. - svivian, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2gToDo is a nice app if you're looking for something simple. Personally I use the free version of Basecamp (online) because it's really well designed and organised.
- ptFoe, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3GTG looks powerful
- holub, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Have you tryed Org-Mode
http://orgmode.org/
Dammit, Emacs. - winry, on 07/14/2009, -1/+3Also you can try Tomboy (with a lot of plugins) for Linux and Windows and share the notes with Dropbox.
www.gnome.org/projects/tomboy/ - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1esp the dbus interface
- ShishKabab, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Also, if you aren't afraid of setting up a list entirely in a config file, try TaskJuggler (www.taskjuggler.org/).
- Aynoori, on 08/10/2009, -0/+1I am testing gToDo recently, it is really nice application, very good for daily tasks.
- aesthetigeek, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1A GTD system should be entirely portable, which means I don't want it to be welded to my desktop. I like Monkey GTD, based on the TiddlyWiki and runs on the Web or as a stand-alone file. The only bad part is that it doesn't send reminders and doesn't work with mobile phones. I tried Chandler and found it incredibly bloated at this point. It needs serious streamlining.
- inactive, on 07/14/2009, -0/+134MB seems a tad heavy for an organiser, but I'm going to check it out. Thanks.
- johnsu01, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1Org-mode is awesome, there is also Planner mode for Emacs (http://wjsullivan.net/PlannerMode.html%29. Makes sense to have your to-do list in your text editor, IMO, and to have the data stored in plain text format so it can be tinkered with anywhere, even outside of Emacs.
- schilke, on 07/16/2009, -0/+0but instead of reminders by email you could use ticklers (original suggestion from GTD): http://monkeygtd.tiddlyspot.com/demo3.html#%5B%5BT ...
Re. TiddlyWikis on phones: there are already a lot of phones capable of the required javascript (increasing) - but those are newer smartphones - so that's (still) a point... - ATrueRoman, on 07/13/2009, -3/+2looking at it...
- ghostborg, on 07/14/2009, -3/+0OMG like it's Sooooo hard, really people. Like this lady I was talking to, her computer died , the main thingy blew up so we had to get a new one. Yeah maybe should not be running Linux.
- wpennb, on 07/14/2009, -3/+0It's not so hard, Linux just feels unpolished and clunky.
- wpennb, on 07/14/2009, -9/+1I thought everyone had given up on Linux. Build a Linux machine, play a bit, then go back to their Windows or Macs.
