- NigelPoop, on 05/27/2008, -0/+1I wrote exactly what I did to make my mouse work. xorg.conf is still there and the mouse buttons are supported its just they dont do anything by default like they would on windows.
And yes it should work with any mouse but you may have to change Option "Name" "Logitech USB Gaming Mouse" part to what your mouses name is. - Kingoftherings, on 05/27/2008, -0/+1Hes talking about the thumb buttons, you know the ones that aren't left click, right click and middle click. I've had two mice with those side buttons that have never worked in any Linux Distro (haven't tried PCLinuxOS though)
- weizbox, on 05/26/2008, -1/+2I thought the xorg.conf file no longer exists in Ubuntu 8.04 (considering you did a fresh install and didn't have the xorg.conf from previous versions). Wouldn't that kinda make it hard to find your mouse section if the file didn't exist to begin with?
Very poor written HowTo... doesn't explain at all about what your doing to your system. Buried. - Cryoniq, on 05/26/2008, -1/+2Why? Logitech G7 worked at once in PCLinuxOS 2007. You guys seriously mean that you have to mess to get it working in Ubuntu? Seriously? =/
- Kingoftherings, on 05/26/2008, -0/+1Just to clarify, will this work with any mouse with thumb buttons? I have a Razer DeathAdder that I'd like to try this on. :P
