- law1ess, on 02/16/2009, -2/+11their moms picked them all up @ 1234568790 (15min after).
- mmittimm, on 02/16/2009, -9/+18I am so tired of hearing about this...
- jiminizer, on 02/16/2009, -0/+8It's an easy way of representing the time using just one long integer. It means you don't have to deal with slashes and colons etc when dealing with a date in your code. The number is the number of seconds since 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+8Unix time =/= time time
- sexybobo, on 02/16/2009, -0/+8since it is in Stockholm it makes perfect sense they are speaking Japanese not Swedish
- Seidoger, on 02/16/2009, -0/+7If you don't care, don't come here write "NOBODY CARES" pretending nobody does, because if you were right, then this video would not have existed.
Thank you. - mranderson86, on 02/16/2009, -0/+72nd
Motion is passed.
*Slams gavel* - rkrause, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6What's funny is the countdown on that site wasn't even accurate. Check the source code. It did nothing more than invoke a local JavaScript Date function. There was no attempt to synchronize the readout with an actual Unix server. That means every visitor to that site was seeing a completely different countdown based on what their PC clock happened to be set to which could be several seconds or even minutes off from official UTC. It would be like watching the New Years ball drop in NYC based on every person's wall clock which is far from "realtime".
A client-server based implementation that shows true Unix time to the second would be something like http://www.technumerology.com/ - inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6Was anyone expecting the Cloverfield monster to show up after the lights went out?
Just me?
Alright then. - SSUK, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6f* is a wildcard for every obscenity beginning with the letter 'f'.
... It should be, anyway. - eanbowman, on 02/16/2009, -1/+7Will they be back January 19th, 2038 to celebrate the epoch fail? ;D
- Peterix, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6One thing: NTP
Do YOU use it? Because I do! ;) - DJJensaarai, on 02/16/2009, -0/+6Looks like they blew a fuse...gg
- Archon810, on 02/16/2009, -0/+5In addition to that, it's the worst party video, ever. I don't see why this is on the front page.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -2/+7Its front page now, buddy.
- Seidoger, on 02/16/2009, -0/+5I think they're more likely speaking "Something"
- GoKings, on 02/16/2009, -1/+6Oh man that looks like a wild party. Hope nobody called the police to break up all that fun. Some crazy ***** going on there.
- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -2/+7Hmm...geek isn't a four letter word...it's a six digit salary.
trust me :) - Joomal, on 02/16/2009, -3/+7LOL. They overloaded a circuit and tripped a breaker just after 1234567892... funny. I bet a lot of them felt that the world came to an end.
- beaversprite, on 02/16/2009, -0/+410100111
- specialK16, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3I'd be happy to be there, seriously.
- eclipse492, on 02/16/2009, -3/+6dont let him get you man! he's calling you an idiot for not appreciating a clock nobody uses turning over to a time that means nothing and a video nobody cares about with nerds celebrating it.
this whole 12345.... crap is just pointless - inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3i don't see a party, just a projection
- armo, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3Shouldn't that be

- Aupajo, on 02/17/2009, -0/+2I care. Why must you hate everything I do?
- cdubd, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2It is Sweden... what do you want? I spend most of my days listening to Katy Perry and other artists of a similar vein. Just wait until you hear slagsmåls klubben. Keep in mind I don't listen to this music because I want to.... no no... it is because that is what Sweden wants you to hear.
