- baalzebub, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1i am not a gnome fan but this is cool, since Pat V. dropped Gnome from Slackware there was three third party gnome builds for Slackware, (Dropline, Freerock & Gware) two sort have died and Dropline is just barely hanging on (development is slowed to a crawl) i can understand why, building Gnome from source is a nightmare because it is more complicated than any other desktop environment for Linux and with this comes more bugs to work out and time consumed in doing so...
dont believe me? just browse the packages at Gnome's ftp and you try to figure out the order in which packages are to be built and with what parameters...
i think a lot of Gnome enthusiasts that love Slackware will be grateful to Slacky...
