- inactive, on 09/27/2008, -3/+7The current KDE is a mess when its comes to actual functionality. its still a year away from giving a stable and useful DE. Gnome on the other hand might be slow at development but its no slouch and has most of the feature that most would ever need.
- InorganicMatter, on 09/27/2008, -2/+5GNOME needs to stop worrying about shiny artwork and catch up to at least circa-2005 KDE in functionality.
- TheWindBlows, on 09/27/2008, -0/+1Gnome'ify the Lancelot Menu concepts and feel.
- ubersolid, on 09/27/2008, -0/+1I prefer Gnome, but it needs a better menu. Kde 3.5's menu is no better. Gnomes menu SLED is a small improvement, but not really. Gnome + Kde4 menu might me a winner. But then again it might not. I had a few beers, so what? Party on Wayne....
- YodaJones, on 09/27/2008, -3/+4I hope they don't mean big icons like KDE. That looks too Windows-ish. The slim lightweight menu bars of Gnome have always been one of it's most attractive elements IMHO.
- InorganicMatter, on 09/27/2008, -1/+1I was talking about KDE 3.5. Version 4 doesn't count.
- insllvn, on 09/27/2008, -2/+2Specifically what functionality do you feel GNOME is lacking that was present in KDE in 2005? Merely citing flexibility is a cop out, as some (me for example) prefer the less cluttered option menus, and are willing to drop into text files from time to time to make more dramatic changes. It is a difference in design and philosophy, not functionality.
