Forget about Linux going GPLv3

linux-watch.com — If anyone out there still thinks that the main Linux kernel might change to the GPLv3 (General Public License Version 3) anytime soon, you can forget about it. At the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit today, five of the leading Linux kernel developers said that they couldn't see anything like a good enough reason to switch to GPLv3.

  • baalzebub, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I can live with that, I bet RMS will relicense the GNU Tool Chain and other products under his command under GPL-3 anyway, and who knows what other GPL-2 products will move to GPL-3...

  • afaictbr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Is it a strategy of Microsoft to slow down the development of Linux ? These deals with Linux distributions like Microsoft-Novell and Microsoft-Linspere?
    Is it ? I think we are in a bad situation right now if kernel does not release with GPLv3.
    What I want is this situation need to be solved as fast and smart as possible! It cant interrupt our people of GPL development!
