- luuneetoon, on 11/23/2007, -20/+99Why does your description (when read, since not amusing, should be rewritten) not make, according to me, little sense, the time will stay.
- Eeqmcsq, on 11/23/2007, -2/+77His profile says he's from Bolivia, so English may not be his first language. He might have meant to say "time will tell".
- inactive, on 11/23/2007, -0/+57One new feature that I really like about FF3 is the new URL dropdown list in address bar. With FF2 2, when I start typing in address bar, only list of matching URLs is shown, with FF3 on the other hand, you can type page titles too (if you don't remember the exact address) and URLs matching that title will show up.
- mjpatey, on 11/23/2007, -3/+38I have to agree. I'm an Ubuntu user, and there's a particular multiplayer Flash game I love to play, but it bogs down too much in Firefox 2.x, and causes me to drop from games. My rate of dropping out has been cut in half in Firefox 3 (though I still do drop), and the game is now playing like it does in IE7 under Windows on the same machine.
Big improvement in that area! - clearwaterlab, on 11/23/2007, -0/+23but your children still do. They miss you, John, come over here, sit down. We are here to day to help... an intervention if you will.
- foofightrs777, on 11/23/2007, -0/+20I'm using it and it works great. I can't wait until authors start to update their extensions for compatibility however. It's currently quite poor.
- MeThePeople, on 11/23/2007, -2/+22server go boom
- houndeyex, on 11/23/2007, -2/+22... WHAT?
- affanjam, on 11/23/2007, -0/+19How come in FF3 digg is in a constant state of loading. its always "Transferring data from y.digg.com..."
- slsanity, on 11/23/2007, -0/+18He posted two, I've seen much worse spamming.
- MacParrot, on 11/23/2007, -2/+19You must excuse cstripple. Being anonymous on the internet has made him very brave.
- cstrippie, on 11/23/2007, -10/+26Hey ggarron: how many firefox reviews do you figure you need to post?
- Pake, on 11/23/2007, -0/+16You mean like hitting F11 on the keyboard?
- carbog, on 11/23/2007, -0/+15In terms of the look and feel, whatever happened to all of this?
http://blog.mozilla.com/faaborg/2007/10/10/the-fir ... - romistrub, on 11/23/2007, -2/+17*PUHCHOO* Your description... just blew... my mind.
- Aurarch, on 11/23/2007, -1/+15firefox no longer begs for mercy when I visit digg!
- kingvik, on 11/23/2007, -0/+13What game?
- Farik, on 11/23/2007, -0/+12In place of the site being dead http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html
- BigDog01, on 11/23/2007, -2/+136 minutes and the sites down. Amazing.
- blakespot, on 11/23/2007, -0/+11:: "...the time will say."
MAKE YOUR TIME! - Pake, on 11/23/2007, -0/+11There's an extension created that will remove the titlebar if desired (for FF2, not FF3B).
- zzz@tkz, on 11/23/2007, -1/+12Err *****, obviously that should be false. My bad.
- BryanJK, on 11/23/2007, -0/+11I noticed I can load a digg page without it locking up and lagging. Or even 4 digg pages at once...
- Protoss, on 11/23/2007, -0/+10Yeah I love this new feature. Just type someones name, and it will match their Facebook or Myspace profile, etc. Pretty handy.
- altrego99, on 11/23/2007, -7/+16What the ***** is your problem if he posts a review? I like reading Firefox reviews.
How many have *you* posted? If none, then let others do their job peacefully. If you have posted, you may give the links here I will read them. - Pake, on 11/23/2007, -0/+9That would currently be impossible.
- oojamaflip2006, on 11/23/2007, -1/+10This 'Version' is Beta software. Doesn't any one of you whining ***** realise this?
- idiotwithastick, on 11/23/2007, -0/+9What I learned from Digg: if it doesn't exist in Firefox, there must be an extension for it!
for example https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/156 ... - zzz@tkz, on 11/23/2007, -0/+7Add a boolean value in about:config, extensions.CheckCompatiblity, and set it to true, most still work.
- Pake, on 11/23/2007, -1/+8Shame on people for wanting choices!
- dlowell, on 11/23/2007, -3/+10i got that problem too, not sure y
- inactive, on 11/23/2007, -0/+6Now you know how we feel about Apple stories.
- trogdoor, on 11/23/2007, -0/+6Your wifi connection is completely seperate from the apps that use it. My guess is that you need to use some kind of proxy or VPN to connect to the internet and you havn't set FF3 to use it, that or there is a bug somehow making Firefox think it can't reach the internet when it really can.
- jakbrud, on 11/23/2007, -1/+7Now lets see apple revisit those ridiculous Safari benchmarks
- zwaldowski, on 11/23/2007, -1/+7'Cause Digg is designed like *****.
- trogdoor, on 11/23/2007, -3/+9I just recently installed the Firefox Beta, I havn't even tried the new features yet but it is already my default browser because of speed alone. Faster than Opera, epiphany, even konq. It is the only browser that, at least so far, has NEVER even hiccuped with Digg. Opera, IE, Safari, Konq every browser that supports javascript has Frozen on me at one time or another with Digg, ( possibly because I have a bad connection and loosing it during Digg's ajaxification locks it up ) except Firefox 3. It's simply insane how fast FF 3 is, and that's WITH debugging information compiled in.
- BryanJK, on 11/23/2007, -1/+7yeah its called download firefox 3
- GyroTech, on 11/23/2007, -1/+7So take the Gecko engine, and write yourself a slimline browser for it. If you're capable of designing and building yourown extensions to make the thing work exactly as you want, forking an OD project should be a decent step up.
- ggarron, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5you are right, that was my intention, that only time will tell us if it is a winner or not, sorry for my english.
- BryanJK, on 11/23/2007, -1/+6Thats one of the main things about Firefox, you have a base lightweight browser with addons that you choose to your liking. Unlike other browsers loaded down with things you don't need, but someone else may need.
- zwaldowski, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5Then along comes Bobby Jimbo who goes... "Where the ***** do I download my porn?"... and goes back to using the blue E. Get over yourself.
- prthealien, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5http://www.duggmirror.com
- ggarron, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5Sorry, I thought both of them were interesting, at least for me, and they are not the same anyway, hope you found interesting at least one of them.
- Malachai, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5Well, if that's a deal breaker for you, you can have your Opera.
- Tomson74, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5hence the words BETA,
- PlancksCnst, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5I wouldn't call it "blinding speed".
- actionscripted, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5I think what he's saying is that in full screen (F11) in Opera is completely chrome-less, whereas in Firefox you still have the navigation toolbar and -- if more than one tab is open -- the tab bar.
I just don't understand why that would be a determining factor in browser selection. - BryanJK, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5ad block plus :P
- stonedslacker, on 11/23/2007, -0/+5Do you always see what everyone does everywhere?
Did you see what I did here? - igeoffi, on 11/23/2007, -1/+6If you want to use the Nightly builds instead of the Beta, you could always create another firefox profile so that you won't damage your FF2 data. Nightly builds are doing just fine at the moment. I did some forced compatibility on some "need to have" extensions and the Nightlies have yet to crash on me.
