Fifth-generation Linux mobile phone OS

linuxdevices.com — MontaVista will ship a fifth-generation Linux-based operating system for mobile phones later this year. The company, whose "Mobilinux" OS underpins Motorola in handsets such as the RIZR2 V8, claims its Linux OS powers 90 percent of Linux smartphones, and over 35 million consumer devices overall.
