  • strawberyspring, on 01/17/2009, -1/+9fixed sized containers have been the bane of encryption for years. It cannot ever really be on the fly while you are making containers and while its not on the fly it will never be used en-mass. This looks like it moves the switch more towards user-friendliness without pulling back from functionality..... now lets have a few more to make it competitive.

  • steviesteveo, on 01/17/2009, -0/+1I always liked the fact that the fixed size containers reminded me of old Mac OS disc images. I felt incredibly nostalgic when I realised that.

    Truecrypt's very focused on the security of their product, fixed size containers resist analysis better than resizable ones but clearly nearly everyone would actually rather have the convenience of resizable ones. It's unfortunate since this is a genuine trade off.

    Considering how the cups-PDF printer does not work because of a retarded permissions mess since Gutsy this not surprising.
