Eee PC 904 HD to pack Linux, hard drive into $500 notebook

electronista.com — ASUS is building a new Eee PC that will push the cost of its 9-inch notebooks down: by using both is own version of Linux and a hard drive, the PC maker will be able to sell its Linux 9-inch notebook for $500 -- a full $100 less than the Eee PC 901 (as well as many Windows notebooks).

  • brand0con, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1tell me why again are they drifting further and further from the umpc objective of portability? the extra bezel and keyboard space is less than ideal imho. i have pipe dreams of a 901 model with a hdd.
