- baalzebub, on 01/20/2008, -3/+73after adding all those hardware goodies does he get the cover back on to make it look normal? or does it have to remain exposed like the photo?
- alpharaptor, on 01/20/2008, -1/+60not every mod/hack, there's still the touchscreen mod
- teabagginz, on 01/20/2008, -0/+51all you need is a battery hack to take care of all that stuff
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -0/+49After digging into the linked wiki, I found that it does allow for the cover to put back on.
- goofygarber, on 01/20/2008, -0/+44So much blogspam... It links to another blog which links to another blog.
- peteboy1, on 01/20/2008, -2/+35Quoth thy wiki "If you say I could get a much better, powerful, plain old, regular laptop for the same money, I say: What's the fun in that? "
- Lane, on 01/20/2008, -0/+32I'm begging to know what kind of a GPS that is and how complicated it is to hide internally. Id love to be able to stick one of those bad boys into my tablet for only $36.70

=P - inactive, on 01/20/2008, -3/+24This > Macbook AIIIIR
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -7/+26Y'know, if you were to pay for all of those in an OEM laptop, it'd be FAR more than $854.38.
- proficient, on 01/20/2008, -1/+16It wouldn't be "hacked." Whenever the keyword hack is used, it becomes godlike automatically.
- Dantetheinferno, on 01/20/2008, -0/+14I dunno, you'd probably have a larger screen, more ram, and a more powerful proccesser though. ;)
- frontporsche, on 01/20/2008, -2/+15Very nice -- a work of art.
I would perhaps suggest using twisted pairs of the various runs of USB data lines. - kentifer, on 01/20/2008, -1/+12According to the guy's wiki, the prices are accurate.
He lists the prices he paid for them at the bottom.
(The guy who actually made the modifications). - bowe, on 01/20/2008, -0/+10ah yes the good old blog circle jerk, keep following and you'll find yourself back where you started.
- 80hd, on 01/20/2008, -1/+11still though..
$90 for 4gb of flash memory? that seems steep - TheBuzzKiller, on 01/20/2008, -2/+12size

- armo, on 01/20/2008, -0/+8Lets see how good my crappy hosting is, not very I suspect
http://www.r-mo.co.uk/eeemod/Eee_PC_Internal_Upgra ... - bmnrocks, on 01/20/2008, -1/+7That was the first thing I thought of, and of course seems to be the best mod of them all.
- steven401, on 01/20/2008, -0/+6It "has a problem" at the moment though.
- lovestospooge, on 01/20/2008, -2/+7Dugg for proper use of "hack":
"A Hack is usually a technique used to subvert, misuse or subtly change a program, gadget or mechanism in such a way as to change, or add to, its functionality.
Hack has several meanings in the technology and computer science fields: a clever or quick fix to a computer program problem; a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem; or a modification of a program or device to give the user access to features that were otherwise unavailable to them." - roffelmeh, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5more pics
- chingy1788, on 01/20/2008, -1/+6not only that, it comes with linux, not XP
- technoredneck, on 01/20/2008, -1/+6What's the fun in that, dude?
- se1zure, on 01/20/2008, -0/+5it should be under hardware, but the submitter put it to linux/unix because every linix geek gets a hardon over the eeepc.
- newprohibition, on 01/20/2008, -1/+5From bottom of the Wiki: Cost

Total 454.38 USD - including shipping to Europe. If you say I could get a much better, powerful, plain old, regular laptop for the same money, I say: What's the fun in that? - UNDERSTAR, on 01/20/2008, -1/+4I just want to know if theyre is any website that actually sell modded EEE's???
- drunkard, on 01/20/2008, -0/+3Because it also runs on unix/linux.
- jbond, on 01/20/2008, -0/+3No 160Gb 1.8" hard disk? Shame.
- AsSubtleAsABrik, on 01/20/2008, -1/+4I want one mounted in my car please.
- sny1120, on 01/20/2008, -3/+6Yes...these are modifications, not hacks.

- Shenaniganz08, on 01/20/2008, -1/+3umm we killed his website
- mst3kcrow, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2Thanks, I was about to post this; saw it today on hackaday.
- PhonicUK, on 01/20/2008, -1/+3I don't see any reference to the HSDPA datacard hack?
- tweak33, on 01/20/2008, -2/+4Go onto eBay and look for a DIY gps kit. theyre relatively cheap.waiting on mine to arrive now...with an EEE aswell woo!
- dubloe7, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2he has an added 2 gigs of ram, most sub $100 laptops don't.
- fradro, on 01/20/2008, -1/+3That is pretty thoughtful, using the USB Hub and just stripping down components to their main boards.
In my opinion, wires and the extra components are laid out pretty well. - spydon, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2Oh man I feel sorry for you!
- Evildudetx, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2I know several truck drivers - all of them have gaming rigs. None of them would touch this POS - its to small and there is no way you could game on it.
- dubloe7, on 01/20/2008, -0/+2if anyone wants instructions or the source it's all linked to on hackaday, along with other goodies in the comments like adding a touch screen.
http://www.hackaday.com/2008/01/19/add-everything- ... - Dunnix, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1Thats because you are a fool. Thats like comparing a F-16 to the paper airplane you made while attending an apple fanboy camp.
- frontporsche, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1I tried one at the store for about 10 minutes. My impression was that it was the smallest possible keyboard that still allowed me to touch type. It was a little awkward, but I felt like I would get used to it after a couple days of practice.
Actually, I'm growing to like the n810 keyboard too. It's not bad ... for a thumb board ... for the occasional IM or url entry. - supermanred, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2True. You can buy a low-end laptop for that price or for a few hundred bucks more and it wont look like something that should be wired to dynamite.
- childprey, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1True that
- Viroz, on 01/20/2008, -0/+1I heard the eee pc's keyboard is pretty hard to type on too...
